Root [ROM] Preludedrew's ICS-March 28-Alpha1

Okay, I've been lurking, and I must say, I'm very happy to see how things have gone, I've even signed up for Twitter and am following the suggested people. After being on XDA for years, I've looked elsewhere for roms as I simply can't take the drama and hatred that people pile on to the users, I've NOT seen that highschool crap here, thankfully.

I tried the ICS build by mazwoz over on xda yesterday, it was a tad too buggy. I couldn't get the downloads to work for this one, however, this morning it was successful, so I'm going to give it a go, I'm currently on MikG3.0, and am very pleased with it, and of course have done a NAND to preserve it. Hoping that I don't have to restore it tho and that I can do this as a daily driver. Since you've reported that navigation is working I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do so and then update as new releases are put out there.

Thank you for posting this and updating it as well.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i so agree with you there. i love AF!!!! we have the best members here. i only go to xda to check out the new stuff that some of the devs who are still there come up with.

for me i always recommend mikg3.0 or anything that mik buts out. i really like mik3d as well.

glad you found us. if you have any questions you now know what to do.

Hey Bobarune - I'm interested to hear how stability is after making these tweaks. I came back to p7 after toying with JTG's latest because it kept rebooting on me, and crashing apps. P7 has been rock solid, without a single reboot, so I'm interested whether this is the cause, or if there's something else mucked up in JTG's build.

Thanks for the tip!

It's been pretty stable. you can try it and always revert back by changing the files back to their original text

What does this do exactly? I love me some Ice Cream Sandwich and always want to make it better. How can I do this? And what is Chainfire?

1. don't quote me on this but, I think it turns off software processing and uses the Adreno Gpu that's in our phones.

2. You can use a file explorer like es file explorer or root explorer

3. As posted by Chainfire on xda: "Chainfire3D sits between your apps and the graphics drivers, and can intercept and/or change commands between the two."

it lets you change things like the texture quality. convert it to 16-bit color instead of 32-bit color

Edit: here's the link that helped me

This is for the Milestone but it's the same idea. I compared JTGs b3.5 and b4.0 and these were changes that he made.

I just flashed this last night. Great experience with this ROM so far. I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents as I saw someone ask about DT.
Anyone try Darktremors with this ROM yet, I have SD partitioned and feel like its being wasted lol.

I also have my SD partitioned and I tried flashing dt when I flashed the ROM and was never able to get past the HTC boot screen. However, everytime I flashed the ROM and gapps only it booted into ICS fine. I tried flashing dt before gapps and after gapps and both times could not get it to boot. I also tried both beta 3 and 4 and the version before that of dt and still no luck. Not a huge deal but I just wanted to make my experience known.
