Help Tried to upgrade opera. Download froze, now nothing works.

A few hours ago I tried to upgrade opera. It got to 57% then stopped. Now the internet doesn't work and I can't text or call anyone. Turning it off and on again does nothing. And as far as I know I have tried killing the upgrading thing via the task manager and still nothing changes.

Try airplane mode on & off? And try Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>ALL>Market/Google Play and try the 'Clear Data' button.

Still nothing. A while ago though the opera download bar went away. But nothing still works. I tried those things you suggested too.

Just because of one problem app, you want to do a factory reset? Overkill.

Uninstall and reinstall Opera. Use other apps. There are options without killing the phone

Uninstalling opera didn't work.
Ill do a factory reset. This may be a silly question, but how do I backup my data? Like is there a way I can do it so when I have reset it I can quickly get it to an exact pre-reset state (but without the problem I have now)?

If you are rooted, you can backup most of the things, but also no guarantee it will be 100%. If not rooted, I know ES File Explorer have have options to back up but have never used it before so not very sure how good it is.

All files in the phone USB storage and microSD card can be copied to your computer hardisk but it might not mean your settings would be saved. Contacts can be sync with google. Kies can also backup some things.

urgghhhh
Im an idiot. My Giff Gaff balance had ran out. I could have swore I bought a new one a week or so ago. Everything is working now, thanks everybody!

errr, I thought everything worked. My internet works, but I still can't call or text anyone. Although weirdly I can receive texts and calls

Apparently Giff Gaff are having network problems, so lets hope my phone is ok when they sort it out!

Why do people keep telling everybody to reset?
Message failed to send - better do a factory reset!
Screen isn't bright enough - better do a factory reset!

Resets are a last resort option and you don't want to do any you don't have to.
