Help anyone else having gmail issues?

For few weeks now I'm having issues with gmail stopping. I have to clear cache to get it to work again

We've had one glitch but that was with HC. No issues with ICS. This is with 2 different Gmail accounts syncing 24/7.

I'm sure you've tried everything but what does disable do? Have you tried that?

Actually my gmail issues are pretty bad. I have 3 accounts added, and I can rarely check emails without it crashing. I open gmail, click on an email and it hangs .. until just closing.

So what can I do without root? I hope a factory reset is not my only option at this point.

Any thoughts?

PS, yes i am on the latest .14

I also have three accounts syncing, and I get frequent lockups that I must clear by killing the app from the Apps setting menu. Just about daily.

I wonder if other people who have 3+ accts have zero issues? or could it be that gmail isnt handling many accounts well?

Not sure what to make of it. Very annoying though, as email is the primary function next to surfing.

Hi folks

My TF101 has just upgraded to ICS and I had the same problem have 4 email accounts and Gmail kept crashing. After a few different things and being unsuccessful, I switched off priority inbox in the settings menu and it fixed the problem

Hope it helps ...

I have occasional glitches with Gmail on my Prime, but then again so do I on my Samsung GS2. I just back out and close it out completely.

Seems to have been working fine for me since I got my prime and updated through the ICS update and firmware updates. Maybe uninstall it then reinstall. Give it a fresh start?

GMail can be uninstalled if you root the device, not otherwise. It's in the system. I've started having issues with the GMail app after the .15 update. It does strange things, the display goes wonky and only shows the left-hand window, crashes, etc. Clearing the cache doesn't help. I've started using the default email app for GMail, and Enhanced Email for my work email.

This is bullsh*t and effects me more than the faulty GPS does, I cant believe there is not a more widespread discussion on this. Maybe its only a few of us?

email is a primary function, i think? For me it is anyway.

I think it's probably rare. As I said, the default email app works fine for me on GMail, it's just the GMail app that gives problems, and that's not always.

I've been noticing some weird issues over the past month with GMAIL across all of my devices. I'm so used to it throughout the year periodically, that I just ignore it now.

I'm having the same issues with my gmail. 3 accounts, using priority inbox on one, and it freezes up fairly often. It seems to happen the most when I'm trying to do something with attachments, but I can't say for sure if that's true or confirmation bias.

Freezing here too. Sometimes it will only be fixed by resetting the device. Very annoying since we can't uninstall without rooting. Hopefully there was a stealth fix in the update today.

I think this is a Google issue, not a Prime issue. Software, not hardware, IOW.

Google has to know one of their main applications is not functioning right, dont they?

it has been fawked up for a while now

I think there was an update to GMAIL yesterday, any luck with it? (dont have my device with me)

It doesn't seem to have made a difference for me. I assume it has something to do with Asus, since gmail works just fine on my galaxy nexus.

CRAP! how can this be?

my stock browser (that i use because of Flash) already craps out at least once a night, and now i cant check emails?

I wonder if anyone official even knows about this and is looking into it? This is terrible

My issues have pretty much resolved. Try deleting the cache and data for GMail. It will all come back when it syncs. That temporarily fixed my issues on my Prime, but they came back, and I have had the same problems on my Samsung phone. It comes and goes, usually the same on both platforms. I think the problem is the Android app, not the underlying GMail service, but I can't prove it yet. I've had no problem on any PC, either with the web access or a separate email client. It's only on Android, and only with the GMail app. Using the standard email app it works.
