Help How to remove app

Hi,

I purchased LG optimus p500 in India. it came pre-installed with Apps like bollywooddj.

I tried installing it but it doesnt get uninstalled. How can i remove it or at least stop it from running in background

To remove preinstalled apps or system apps like bollywooddj, you need to root your phone, which is really simple, but be warned, rooting voids your warranty. Once you've rooted your phone, you can uninstall such apps using apps like Titanium backup, root uninstaller, etc. Personally I prefer Titanium backup because it can backup and restore apps and their data as well, but it might seem a bit complicated for a beginner, so if you're new to Android, I suggest using Root uninstaller. Be careful while uninstalling system apps, some of them are needed for your phone to work (like LG Home which is the home screen).

You might need to root your phone, do a titanium backup and then un install the apps.
Before doing this, just wait and see if there is some other work-through ; may be there are better options!

As far as I know, you must root to uninstall system apps. There is no other way.

I tried to uninstall some system apps like Aldiko and Photofunia which I dont use. But though I was able to uninstall them, their icons are still shown in the menu. They are no longer shown in the applications list. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Please help. I uninstalled using Titanium backup.

Also I would like to know if it is ok if I uninstall the app "update notification". And is it ok to uninstall the apps lg home if I have another home screen installed? Will it cause problems if the other home screen is being updated and lg home is uninstalled?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
