Help T-Mobile HTC Desire S no updates! Stuck on Android 2.3.3 & HTC sense 2.1

At the beginning of this year, there was a flurry of excitement among some T-Mobile users as it looked like they would be finally getting the latest Desire S update. However, from several posts on here, it looks like there are quite a few T-Mobile customers who haven't received it - even after 3-4 months.

You should call T-Mobile and ask what's going on and if you'll be getting it and when. They should know one way or the other as most (if not all) providers have delivered it to their customers, including their partner Orange.

I could suggest waiting to see if T-Mobile will release an ICS update in the next month or so, but I doubt T-Mobile will be able to tell you what their plans are for that as there's been no official HTC release yet. And as T-Mobile seem very slow in releasing their updates, you could be in for a very, very long wait!

Another avenue to explore is making a GoldCard, that way you could have a stock HTC (non-branded ROM) on your phone e.g. the current stock Sense 3.0 version or the stock ICS ROM when it's found its way onto the internet.

Alternatively, you could root your phone and then flash a custom ROM. The ICS custom ROMs are in beta mode at the moment, but there are working Sense 3.0 and 3.5 custom ROMS, as well as others. Explore the 'All things root' sub-forum to see what making a GoldCard/rooting/flashing involves.
