Finally out of beta... a public release.

LoStKernel does not claim to get RID of LoS, but it does significantly cut down on it. Over the past 2-3 weeks, numerous people have downloaded it, and I can say that it has had maybe a 5% reported LoS rate, and of those people, they had a significant reduction in the amount of LoS they had.

Now the kernel isn't all about LoS though, its fast and stable, and your phone will be smooth and snappy. That's the goal after all isn't it? something we can use?

There are 2 builds of LoS Kernel, the Standard build, and the Experimental Build. The standard build can always be considered stable, on the other hand, the Experimental build is where features go for testing before they are committed to the standard branch. Also, the Experimental build is cutting edge, overclocking the CPU 1400mhz and 1600mhz as well as Voltage control and Setcpu interface support. There is also Gpu O/C support. (Terminal command support only at this time.)

Both Builds are updated pretty regularly so check ACS regulary for updates...

Download from ACSyndicate.net

Please forgive me if I am asking a stupid question, I am a noob, & an ignorant one at that! I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch/SPH-D710, running 2.3.6 Gingerbread.EL29. Now I have touch screen lag, battery drain, loss of service, & general quirkyness. My question: WILL THIS KERNEL FIX MY POOR PHONE? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

May help but is outdated. Need some more info to try to help you better. Like how did you root? Running a stock or custom rom? Any other mods installed?

K thanks. There are a few good kernels by team rouge for gb roms. They have the Los patch in them. As far as battery life goes its probably a rouge app. Several different ways of tracking it down but I suggest getting better battery stats from either xda(free) or on the market(paid). Also grab cpu spy from market as well, its free and will tell you what frequency your phone has been running at. That should get you started for now. I have subscribed to this thread and will be checking it.

"team rouge for gb roms"??? Sorry, I am a noob! I have no understanding as to what that means, again, I apologize.. Could you please explain so that the new village idiot, ME, would understand? If not, I understand. Are you saying there exists more current code to fix my poor phone?

Lol we all start somewhere at some point right? I know I did. Actually I need to retract what I said earlier about team rouges kernels because I forgot they yanked them over something but chris has a great repack el26 kernel that should help you out. All repack means is that its a stock kernel that has cwm(clockwork mod recovery) added to it. It is more current than the los kernel here. You could always try this kernel as it may suite your needs. I will edit this post with a link for the el26 kernel. Any specific questions just ask, I will do my best to explain.

Hey Rounsy222, I read all 7 pages of forum.xda-developers.com thread that you linked and I watched the QBKing77 how to video. My only question is the kernel is EL26 and mine is EL29. Is that a problem? What is the difference?

El29 is a slightly newer build (3 days) and el29 is official build while el26 was a leak. El26 is the fallback kernel that is used from coming back from an ics rom so it is a proven warrior. And if I remember correctly you seem to be having issues with your current setup and was referring to swapping to the Los kernel and this would be a suitable upgrade from it. Make sense?
