Evo V 4g Retail

The reason why I'm thinking that is because my store did not receive collateral (the dummy phones and name cards) for this phone. Yet we got collateral for the One V, Which isn't supposed to be out for another month.

I'm also told that some of our stores won't see this phone until almost the middle of June!

I'll be happy if they don't modify ths phone but Virgin Mobile has shown their cost conscientious side. Look at the Triumph for example.

That also seems strange to me. Could they just have shipped out the Evo 3D collateral at a later time so maybe it will arrive sometime this week? Or like you said, if it is going to arrive at a later time (mid June) then that would make more sense. The One V collateral that you got on the other hand is a mystery...

If they were going to remove the dual core, they would also probably remove the 3d function (Sprint had them remove it from the LTS). It's just added expense and also why they took so long getting ICS onto the 3d. You probably would also need to change the mainboard to change the chip. At which point you may as well just make a different phone.

Granted they could simply just disable one core, but what would be the point? You would only hobble the phone. It adds expense to R&D and all it would do is slow the phone down. Virgin has plenty of slow phones.

Well, they already released the phone manual stating that the phone will have 3D capabilities though.

yeh. itll be easier to continue manufacturing the phone as-is and just update the software for VM rather than redesign it from the inside out. <br />

you know what really sucks? its such a similar phone yet we cannot use the original Evo 3D on virgin.. i can pick up one of those on craigslist for a 100 bucks right now.

Didn't VM allow people to use the Optimus S since it was basically a Optimus V. So there is a small chance that VM would allow it.

not surprising... Best Buy and Radio Shack are the first retailers to get them and then Target and Walmart sometimes... At the Walmart I work at I haven't ever seen a VM phone in store (but they do sell them online...)

Hey you work at Walmart me too (second job) store 4475 olathe KS.
Edit. ^^^^^^^^ this one doesn't have virgin mobile phones either. Top cards yes

I was never allowed to put outside ESN numbers on Virgin or Boost Mobile.

Though I have seen people with Sprint phones on these networks.
Don't know how they achieved it and I'm not trying it.

There are programs where you can swap the ESN number of a cheap Boost Mobile phone to that of any Sprint phone. When this is done you don't even have to pay the $5 dollar Android fee that is part of Boost. While the legality of this is hotly debated, I know of dealers who do this and I do not give them my business.

Modifying any part of the ESN is illegal.

Just a follow-up, I actually wasn't charged right away. They put a hold on my checking for $309 then it was lifted but it hasn't been actually taken out yet so they charge when it ships.

Mine was the same way. They held the money for like 3 days, then it was back in my account.

I'm hoping that if you pre-ordered, You'll get yours the moment Radio Shack carries them. It would be ridiculous to have ordered that early if you could get one in the store sooner.

Anybodies order status change yet? Mine says on hold until release date. Hope it doesn't take as long as the other item that was in my order.

Ordered an SD card [ship to Store] on 5/22 with a delivery date of 5/30. Was shipped FedEx.

I have a feeling I should have just did site-to-store since peopel are saying Radioshack's will have them in stock Thursday.. But the page on VM says in stores 6/10 so I figured I'd get the better end of the deal but I'm not sure anymore.

But I look at it like: If the Evo's arent in any store including radioshack until the 10th, Then pre-orders got the better deal. But If they are in stores, then ill get mine 2-4 days late. Better then 10 days haha.

@3matthew13, No, Everyone's orders should say on hold until release, at least mine says that.

I just wonder if, Hold until release, is stating that It is already en route to shipping destination, or it will not ship until the 31st?

My other item in my order will be in tomorrow [from a May 22 order]. If the Evo is not shipped, i'm probably looking at at least 5 days PAST May 31. Kinda sucks, when I thought Pre-Orders would hopefully be ready on Release day.

I assume that everyone who preordered will have their phone shipped on Thursday. Some people are looking at waiting until the 10th of June while others are apparently going to local stores and getting them so I don't know, all I know is that I might be a little more patient then other people. Don't get me wrong, I am REALLY excited for this phone.

It's all rumor at this point.. I'm going to assume that all orders start shipping Thurs Night or Fri Morning I think the posts on status of shipping from virgin it's self are aces here.. Why would they screw the pre-order guys over.. The fact a very few will sneak a few out of stores before any pre-orders get delivered is yet to be seen..

Other than us cheap phone junkies most are lining up for the big boy phones so time will tell if it explodes in sales.. June 10 would insure that pre-orders win so it makes sense to me.. Pre-ordering means you get a first wave handset.. Not necessarily meaning you will be the 1st to get it but it should.. I'm not getting any read on demand so idk if there will be a rush for it..

Probably all stores will get their orders same time as the per-orders are being delivered if those are taken I'm SOL.. That's why I Pre-order.. That said my radio shack never heard of it and just told me to stop back in later so no waiting list exists for it here in Mayberry.. Oh hi Andy....

I have a nice working handset for $25 a month so I can wait :).. I suspect the store delivered evo's will be on hold till the 10th but let's hope greed get's the best of them lol.. So next Monday, Tuesday I would start the hunt.. Hope it's sooner

Called the store that is being sent my Evo V.
They told me that if you pre-ordered on the website you have to wait until that phone is received into the store.
They do not hold one of theirs for you. So in essence other people can get theirs first if they receive a shipment before they ship out the phone you pre-ordered.

O rly? LOL This is so ridiculous.

I am cured from pre-ordering forever.
