Blue / Grey color discussion thread (US carriers)

So I've seen several images/ videos on the internet that show the pebble blue version as a more graphite brushed metal look, is this true?

I own a white s3 but after seeing both colours side by side in my local store, I still think white looks better, IMHO

I genuinely hope this is what the U.S. versions get, to me it looks way better than the Pebble Blue press shots from Samsung, I was considering both the white and blue for a while and then I saw a few videos of the blue looking like the pics you shared and I was sold on that so I pre-ordered it through Verizon. I love the white (as it's my favorite color) but the marble white looks to have a bit of a yellow tinge plus I was afraid it would get dirty easily. Is this "metallic" blue confirmed for the U.S. as well?

Samsung have said they haven't changed the colour at all ? so who knows..

I don't think the color has changed. I think the color changes depending on how much light there is

Maybe matt, but there are quite a few pics and videos now, you'd kind of expect to see some crossover by now

If this is the case the press shots Samsung used are a very bad representation of its true color

I think thats exactly the case. Look at the press shots of the Champagne and Amethyst for the asus transformer prime. They look almost white and purple respectively, but in real life they look gold and sort of grayish.

I bought my SIII two days ago, and looked at both the white and blue ones (I am in Sydney Australia).

The blue is a darkish blue, almost purple metallic colour. Personally I wasn't a fan and go the white one.

Anyone have any idea on a third "gray" color from Best Buy?
I called about a pre-order, but didn't stop in. The lady said there was an option for gray something like gray metal or similar term.
Anyone see a reference or reading on a gray model for vzw like ATT has red?

I really wish I would've been able to look at both in person before pre-ordering, oh well I suppose. If I don't like pebble blue I can just exchange it for white.

I like the grayish color in most of the real photos online, but I don't know why it's called blue and all the studio photos are showing a strong blue tint.

If you check out the video from CNET.com, they also say it's more of a gray color.

I ordered the blue, but would have preferred the grey. Oh, well. That's what cases are for.

I love Gunmetal and similar grey hues. While its silly to go crazy over aesthetics - I might just wait until the phone is in stores and not open my s3 from the preorder and exchange it for the Grey. Although, i'm curious to see what the white really looks like. It does look nice in pictures.

If you can hold out, just do that? Otherwise, you could probably cancel your order and resubmit.

Verizon hasn't confirmed a gray color, but if & when they do you would probably have to just cancel your order & reorder.

Just got off the phone w/ a VZW customer service rep & she said on their end they are still only showing the color options as blue & white.

Granted, my German is not terrific, but I think that video is of a Pebble Blue model. You who want gray may be in luck. It will be interesting to see what the colors looks like in person.
