Anyone notice the price change of the Maxx? Was 199 which I thought was going to be the new permanent price due to the HD coming out but now back up to 299? What's up with that?

Also regular Razr back up to 199 instead of 99.

Thoughts on why the price went back up?

One thing I noticed when I went in the local store is that it is now shipping with a 32GB card. Guess that raised the price of the MAXX by a cool c note.
Didn't pay much attention to the RAZR as I wasn't interested in the smaller battery it has.

It was on sale and the flyer I saw said that the sale would end on June 17.
It was a "Dads and Grads" sale, although the MAXX price had dropped to $199.99 before that sale began. And VZW is currently showing the Razr MAXX as $299.99 with a pre-installed 16GB card, so the price going back up is apparently not due to it coming with a larger 32GB card.

I wonder if having no newer phones to offer before the 6/28 plan changes other than the Galaxy S3 pre-order is a factor. It may be simple supply and demand economics, they see a large demand for new 4G phones before the plan changes go into effect and the MAXX is what they can supply, so its price goes up.

Anyone know will Verizon price match Motorola's web site?

Not likely. I called today to see if they would match Amazon's price of 199 and they said no (even spoke to manager). Only thing I was able to swing was getting the 30 dollar upgrade fee credited. So I ordered from Amazon.....F' VZ !

the link to purchase from motos site takes you to verizon with a price of 199

Not sure what was going on earlier but I just walked all the way through the purchase process and it stayed on Moto's website the entire time up to checkout? And the price was not 199 it was 299?

Maybe they changed it.......not sure?

Look at that carefully, it's apparently $99.99 with a two year contract for a new account or with an added line on an existing family account, however it is $199.99 as a qualified upgrade with a 2 year contract extension (although still better than $299.99) and $649.99 as a replacement with no contract changes.

I also think the 32GB reference is throwing some people since it seems to be referring to the total of the 16GB internal memory and supplied 16GB SD card rather than to it coming with a 32GB SD card.

I just upgraded to the MAXX Sunday from Amazon at $239, the awesome thing about Amazon, is if any "authorized retailers" drop the price on it within 14 days of it shipping, they will refund you the cost! So I'm watching like a hawk for 4th of july sales.

Authorized retailers below -
AT&T
Best Buy
Car Toys
Costco
LetsTalk
RadioShack Wireless
Sprint
Target
T-Mobile
Verizon Wireless
Walmart
Wirefly

Currently Costco has the upgrade price back at $199 and Amazon will refund you the $30 if you paid extra. Just give them a call at 1-877-429-8502 (seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Central Time) and tell them your order number, and that Costco has it for $199 upgrade price, and boom, $30 refund (use that for the stupid activation fee!)
