When I slide the phone open to use the keyboard, the touchscreen will not work, if I touch it, it messes up my typing as well. this problem I am used to and do not mind so much, but can become a hassle when the other problem occurs:

Backlight fails to work and cannot be fixed by pulling out the battery and putting it back in. Sometimes this fixes itself after I remove the battery, but mostly it will not. The screen becomes entirely unresponsive to touch and I have to manipulate real light just to read anything on my screen, which is still very difficult. Without the ability to use the touchscreen some apps, with important information, cannot be obtained, nor can I retrieve my information. So I would like to know if anyone knows of this problem or of a fix for it. Please do reply.

I have used two of the same Motorola Cliq 1, and both have had the same problem. No water damage known. The old phone will no longer even turn on. Have also noticed a problem with the charging, as the battery basically reads itself as full at approximately 50% battery.
