Non-Removable Battery - an Issue?

I now have a Samsung Infuse and will be upgrading soon. The HTC One X sounds like a great phone except for the non-removable battery issue. With my Infuse, I just carry an extra charged battery with me. If I've had heavy usage, it only takes a few seconds to remove the back cover and swap the empty battery for a full one, so high usage days are just no problem at all. I'm afraid that I might really miss being able to do that with the HOX. What is your opinion on that? Do you ever run your battery down during a day, and if so, what do you do about it?
Thanks.

I don't find having a non-removable battery a massive issue, battery life isn't a big problem for me either. The only thing I find that really hammers it is the camera (or Mass Effect Infiltrator :p).

That being said, I'm away at the end of the week and may not be in a position to charge it battery if it needs it so I just picked up one of these: Anker

yup I've considered purchasing one of those power packs myself (different make but same idea).

You can also get ones that can charge a tablet and a phone at the same time at a decent rate if you pick up the right one.

The moment I find myself needing one I won't be hesitating to pick one up.

At the end of the day test your usage to see how much you drain your battery if/when you get one and if need more juice you can get one of these as an option. I consider myself a pretty heavy user (generally an hour of HQ streaming during lunch over 3G at work with music played from phone in the car for 2 hours a day + the standard txting, couple of calls etc, + general usage when I get in with some occasional WiFi hotspoting), and I only charge mine before I go to bed each night.

End of the day its down to what you will use it for.

As others have said, it depends how much you use it. But I find the battery life to be the biggest problem with this phone, and the lack of a removable battery is a serious omission. If you don't use it much at all it might just make it from breakfast until bedtime, but there's not much point in having it if you're not going to use it. Otherwise I tend to find it goes flat by early evening, which is when my social life happens, and when I want to use it.

You can carry around external power packs. But the rationale for having the non-removable battery was to keep the phone ultra sleek and portable. If you have to dangle an ugly box from it just to keep it going that rather defeats the object. Swapping over for a fresh removable battery is a much neater solution.

And these problems are cropping up when the phones have recently been launched and their batteries are in their prime. After 18 months of a 24 month contract I don't reckon mine will make it past lunchtime!

After the last firmware update I rarely have to charge before the end of a 24hr period so it hasn't been a problem for me, if you are getting the quadcore version (tegra 3) and play games like shadowgun or GTA 3 then expect to run out of battery pretty quickly, if it's for listening to music, playing angry birds and using the social networks then you'll be fine for the best part of a day.

An external is not something I would use or need every day. I would just take it if I knew I couldn't get a charge for 2 to 3 days.
The one I have has a 1 amp output, so charged my old desire at the same speed as plugging it in at the mains (phone registered it as ac charging).
Must admit not tried it on the one x yet - must dig it out and try and see if it also charges as mains.
