I never use pcc to backup to many problems with it, I just use google to backup contacts and calendar ect and sometimes an sms backup app from the play store if I need to keep some messages.
Mine was crashing right at the very end, when there was 1 second to go, tried it a couple of times, I then just took the photos, videos and music off manually and saved them to my laptop, tried the back up process again and it was fine....im running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, dunno if its an issue with that, Sony's software or the amount of data I was trying to back up....got there in the end though....just a pity PC Comppanion and SUS say my phone is up to date and I can't upgrade to ICS
Tbh I wouldn't worry to much about ics just yet, this is the second time I've tried the swiss ics from xda and even though I've managed to improve the battery life from the last time it's still not as good as gb. From what I can see so far I think it needs some work on it to be as polished as gb, it just doesn't feel finished to me.
I think I may be flashing back to gb again later
Edit
And now my phone has started freezing after I installed dolphin browser
Over on the sony support forum someone posted that sony uk told them that ics will be with the uk generic handsets in 2 to 3 weeks, the reason being that they wanted to see if there were any bugs or problems and fix them before we get it
The update is now available for Three customers in the UK via Sony PC Companion. After about 7 failed attempts to get my phone recognised by the software (clearing out application data in MTApp), and one bricking scare, I have finally successfully upgraded to ICS.
Well I'm a happy bunny now! I'm now running ics and rooted with a locked bootloader.
Phones running fine and sixaxis app works a treat and so I'm now wasting time playing games on the tv via the phone using a ps3 controller this phone now officially rocks
So am I now. The process was more straight forward than I imagined. I was slightly unnerved when the batch files produced loads of unprintable chars when they were run, but bravely carried on and ended up with my locked bootloader SXS rooted with ICS .
