What happened to using computer to just charge?

Well I remember with GB I was able to plug in my razr to a computer to just charge it, not having to use it for "mass storage" there were quite a few options and now there are only 3.

Is there a way to just charge it on the computer so you can use all the functionality of the phone?

And is there a way to disable the website that is opened up that is one of the most annoying things to me..

does yours bring up a browser though? Mine opens my browser and plays a very annoying video, yes I can just close it but its annoying because the usb cable I have at work loses connection occasionally and will come back so if I am looking for something and that happens my browser will go to a new tab and play the video. This becomes a hassle and gets annoying.

I know with my last phone there was something similar and you could get rid of it by deleting a specific file located in the root of the sd card, but idk what to look for if it would be there though its not an sd card..

Plug phone into pc and when all that crap opens up on screen look down near the clock on the task bar you will see a little phone icon with a red circle (Motorola Device Manager) when you mouse over it, right click it and then select do nothing from the menu, that will stop the windows from popping out.

I don't have any idea what your talking about. I don't get a Motorola Device Manager Manager icon when plugged in.

That aside, does selecting do nothing allow you to remount the sd card in the phone. The problem with this whole thing is that a lot of people use a computer as a charging port while they are working and listening to MP3s. withthe current inability to "Charge Only" the phone unmounts the SD cards and you can't use the MP3's, videos, any ringtones stored on SD, etc., etc., etc.

So far as I can see there was no reason to remove the feature other than some coder at google didn't see why anyone would use it. Anyone know if there is some place to send official complaints for future ICS updates?

You havent installed the motocast software is why you don't see what the others are talking about but to answer your question, the internal sd card and external sd card are both unmounted when your phone is any setting other than mass storage, it is also charging no matter what mode your in.

Set it as anything other than mass storage and you can listen to your music and browse all the files on both cards and it's charging which is why they took out the charge only mode, kind of redundant considering all settings take care of that.
