Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

i get halfway through the system download on the newest version and it just stops. its one it at least 5 times. tried pulling the battery, it doesnt help.....what else can i do, what is the problem?

Some things that have helped people here, including myself is to try a different USB port, try a different cable if possible, and just out of curiosity, how much battery life do you have? Try to have at least 50% battery. I've found that a good number to avoid problems.

Oh my, I got lost in the thread! I will be sure to seek it out, thanks! I'll be sure to do this when I get home from work.

Perhaps we could add something to the OP for this? I am a bit embarassed for not having noticed the baseband update.

Do you mean the following thread?

http://androidforums.com/samsung-be...n-images-available-latest-t-mobile-stock.html

I assume I want the "PHONE" file for the baseband from the above thread coupled with your 1.6 R4 image when ODINing, correct?

*edit* I have confirmed I am still running the old T979UVIJ6 baseband, thanks for the help! I'll update the firmware and the baseband in one fell swoop tomorrow morning.

2fr35 htried that but for watever reason only 4 contacts are on there, how can sync from t mobile?

Go to contacts click Menu display groups then click all then you should see all of your contacts if that doesn't work once again go to contacts click edit sync group and make sure "sync all contacts" has a green check beside it. If that doesn't work check tmobile.com under contacts and all your numbers from that phone.

I just ODIN BH_MAN1.6 R4. Everything is tested and working as of the following:

TaskKiller
Lock 2.0
Weather and Flip Clock(Donate)
RockOn
Swype
Gesture Search
Root
Tmo Visual Voicemail
Full Contact and Email Sync (Using Google Exchange...I think)
KeepScreen
Camera & Video
FaceBook
FourSquare
Seesmic
Maps (latest update)
Backing up ALL apps thru ASTRO File Manager.
Using GP (free) for now for Gallery
Barcode Scanner

...you get the picture :) Very stable. Thank you BH_MAN! Oh, Battery life remains the same if not better. aGPS always on, 100% Brightness, Bluetooth and 1 Widget (Weather). Normal internet usage, Twitter, FB, etc. I love my Behold again. Did I mention FASTER?

really frustrated. cant get it to go past half way loaded....

My suggestion, start from scratch. Read from top to bottom of this Post. Do a ODIN (4.03) of the latest Baseband VJA3(http://androidforums.com/samsung-be...n-images-available-latest-t-mobile-stock.html ) , then ODIN BH_MAN1.6 R4 from Original Post. I think what helped me is that I previously installed PdaNet drivers on my Windows 7 Professional Netbook that allows the netbook to connect to my Behold properly. I hope this helps.

My phone is not getting to that stage. Drivers loaded, odin see phone, but no download. Ive tried 10k ways and it just goes to start. Is there something i need to put on phone, sd card? System is vista 32 basic, never got the drivers to load on win 7 64bit

Did you at least get to Download Mode? Power OFF phone. Press and HOLD Vol DOWN, then Middle button of D-Pad then POWER button until it goes to "Download Mode". Then press "START" on ODIN?

How long do you hold it, because i get the sammi screen, then tmo magneta and the droid, no download. Ive tried many combinations and only get regular start.
I don't know why tmo requested twiz on the phone, if they never updated the first behold. Then to hold 1.6 because of the mytLE, i only see plain 2.1 or none for the next B2 update.

It's Fully Tested & working.... Mainly just wanting somebody to do a How-to on Partition the sdcard for ext 2

I found the following instructions.

Apps2SD - CyanogenMod Wiki

I would use gparted. I have done it manually in the past for n800 and it was pain. Gparted is so much easier. Just about anybody can download the cd bootable image of Ubuntu and use that without modifying their system.

I have R4 installed. So far everything is working as expected except for Waze. I can install it and the app starts but when I am going through the startup process I pick the sign in option to sign into my existing account and phone becomes pretty unresponsive. In a short time the phone crashes and does a restart.

I had the same problem with R2. I have used it fine with the previous galaxy roms (1.5) and the custom behold roms without touchwiz. It is also running fine for me on my N1 with various ROMS.

BH_Man I think I found a bug with R4. After the phone sits around for a while connected on Wifi, I unlock it and its back on Edge... Normally it would take a few seconds and connect to the Wifi. However, it does not. You have to manually tell it to connect to the AP or Turn off/On the wifi to connect.

Though I can probably just tell Wifi to never turn off and that would probably fix the issue, I know with the previous versions it would just connect.

What is UVJA3? tried to google, but nothing understandable came up? how do i found out if i have the Latest T-Mobile Stock? is this really important?

That is the latest baseband that was sent on the OTA update from T-Mobile. It is basically an important subsystem that handles most of the phones communications.

That is the version of the last phone updated baseband which TMO / Samsung pushed out recently. The way you can find out if you have it is going to the settings of the BH2 phone then going to About Phone and checking the Baseband Version.

You should see T939UVJA3
