Someone started a group text which I was part of. When others on the group text reply I get their texts. When I reply, it only goes to the original sender. Does this phone/OS not have the capability of responding to all members of a group text?

In the text settings, there is a box to check under Group conversations - "Send messages as group conversations by default"; whether this is checked or not, I don't see how I would be able to respond to all recepients of a group text. Maybe this is not possible, hard to believe with such a new phone.

Do the other people all have iPhones? If so, that's why. iPhone people can group text among themselves but when they cross over to Android phones, you get all the messages, but you get them all separately and your reply only goes to the sender you replied to.

I believe this to be a bug in the messaging app. Happened to me and the senders were on mixed devices.. android and apple.

I don't think it's an issue with iphones. Most my friends have iphones (never understood why, but that's a different thread) and all my previous phones (mostly BlackBerries) have been able to group text with them just fine.
I wish they would get a fix for the native texting app. I like using it better than Go SMS or Handcent.

had this problem too. I got Go SMS pro, and turned on the MMS group text. Now it works like it does on the iphone.

How fast is it? I read it's kind of laggy. I'm coming from an iPhone which is super seamless, but I want to stay in touch with my buds and fam via group.

Yeah Blackberry and iPhone can all group and I think windows also plays nicely. It's just the way current android devices send and receive. I'm going to try the MMS methods in handcent/gosms but I'm not expecting it to work very well. Let's hope it is really smooth though..
