Hi

Im using the Samsung Dive to trace my phone if it ever gets lost or stolen.

Im guessing GPS is needed to be enabled all the time to use this feature

my question is if i leave GPS all the time will it drain my battery quickly ?

Yes, Chris, you are correct, keeping the GPS on will cause your battery to drain quicker than with it off.

However, I do not know if the GPS does need to be on, I can't find anything about it on the Samsung Dive website. It is possible that the service just uses mobile signal to tell you where it is. I'm not 100% certain though.

GPS will not drain your battery unless it is actively being used(maps, navigation, ect). It is fine to leave it "on"

Meh, I'm wrong once again. I thought it would drain your battery - mine certainly does!

This is correct, I have always left the GPS active on all my devices and have never had a battery drain problem
