Root [ROM](wimax)[11/21/12][JB 4.1.2]ParanoidAndroid 2.99

remove sd . boot to bootloader. select recovery. while plugged in pull battery. put sd in. put batt back in. reboot to recovery. usb mount. remove pg file. turn off usb mount.....good to go.

You're a genius!! That nearly worked...My phone turned off when I removed the battery though. But I took out the sd card, put it in another phone, deleted the pg file, and then retried everything. Then the bootloader didn't force me to update anything, so I was able to get to recovery! I'm doing a clean install...But what on earth happened?? Is there any way to make the apps look the right size? Everything seems to be smaller.... most noticeably the text that pops up on popups with messages.

Thanks!

yeah, cant help with that as i had that problem too.. if you didn't do a backup with tb, you can make a 4ext nandroid and use this app to restore everything...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handyandy.appextractor.beta

I do have TB installed and there is a backup and I do have a nandroid of harmonia and PA 299 before the last kernel flash of BT RL14.2 of PA but uhm, how do i get into recovery to reinstall either backup or new rom?
Thanks

make sure phone is off
hold down the volume down button
tap the power button
keep holding volume down
phone will now boot into bootloader
from there, use the volume buttons to navigate to the option 'reboot recovery'
in recovery, select restore and choose the nandroid you want to restore from..

I'd like to flash this rom BUT im on hboot 1.57 can i use hboot 1.50 ? and can i just flash it or how do i do it ? sorry for the noob questions

If you are s-off you can downgrade your hboot. It's required. If you are, then you can find all the hboots in this thread: http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=5210029

Instructions are in the first post in that thread. You flash it through the bootloader rather than through recovery!

Make sure you're s-off, and installed the radio, hboot, and pri from the stickied 'fix everything' thread. Also make sure you do a clean install when flashing this ROM, meaning wipe everything

I did I follow it and it say something about enter msl code and I enter it. It say incorrect code. Get me frustrated cause I spend too many hours trying to do it n it won't let me.

1. To install to mms, you can get a file manager & mount system as read and writable normally found in setting of the file manager, delete the MMS.apk that is in /system/app and replace it with the themed one; then long click the apk, click permissions, set owner as read and write, set the other as only read, and then reboot.

2. Or you can install the MMS.apk using "adb install MMS.apk"

You can try to install it just by putting it on SD card and clicking it, but you might get issues. Haven't tried it though.
