***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Longtime lurker here first time poster was worried about everyone trashing me! lol but anyways this forum has effectively brought my gpa down should be studying for a test right now instead looking at this forum, so thank you and on the on topic side i can not wait for this amazing phone to come out even though i have no money im going to donate plasma so i can get this phone!

Viperboy; do you happen to know what the increase in width is with the extended battery? Or what it's comparable too or if its highly/lowly noticeable?

my questions/comments from today/this afternoon's goods:

1. $30 for a usb cable? this reminds me of Denon USA | AK-DL1 ...but less expensive of course. Doesn't everyone have a wide assortment of mini/micro/normal usb cables lying around the house/office by now though? really?

2. Are there no other people that like to "dress up" their phone with skins? I feel like I'm the only one mentioning GelaSkins | iPad Skins, iPhone Skins, iPod Skins, Laptop Skins, Gaming Skins, Custom Skins, Giclee Prints and more... I emailed them last week asking about new skins for the Incredible - because IMHO they have the best looking skins and best artists compared to other skin sites (skinit, decalgirl, etc). Their reply was "We do not have any current plans for the HTC Incredible, but I will surely pass your suggestions along to our designers!" ...so maybe if enough people email them...or perhaps the sheer amount of sales on this phone will lead them to reconsider (they've got skins for Eris and Droid already). also - the skins come with screen protectors

3. jeez - so much talk of the Evo ...

4. Does anyone know what time the announcer will make the announcement about the announcee(s)? this probably won't get answered before I wake up

5. @EgoDogg - thx for the funny posts - made me chuckle a bit

6. @InThe805 & @socaldevil - w00t! I'm from VTA but lived in SD until just recently (for 6yrs). awww makes me miss home.

7. @viperboy - Thx for posting all those pics and I like your style of shopping-list-of-replies ...it's nice to just find the long posts with a lot of answers instead of finding little ones here and there

8. I really wish I could talk my mom into getting a smartphone, or at least texting. She's pretty tech-savvy but would complain about any smartphone smaller than that HTC Magnum that someone posted. @Steven58 ...maybe you can give me some pointers on persuading her to adapt to small text?

This next week is gonna be CRAZY for us! I have a good feeling our Incredible will be announced this week or a better name for it... HTC Crackhead. We all like crackheads waiting for our next fix lol

Glad I could provide a laugh . I must get it from Uncle Steven. Haha, but anyways, I was unfortunately the one who started the talk on the Evo. I was just questioning them announcing it as early as they did, and it just blew up. I never intended for that to happen, especially the way it did. Glad we're all back on track now though.

And I agree with you here. I love the way viper covers a vast assortment of posts with one reply. Very well organized, instead of cluttered when people respond to each post seperately.

I have a quick question about bluetooth keyboards that I hope someone might be able to answer.

I was thinking about getting a BT keyboard when I get my incredible so that I can type notes in class without having to bring my laptop. However, BT keyboards are pretty pricey, so I figured I'd only buy one if I could use it for other things as well.

Does anyone know (or can give speculation) as to whether or not I'd be able to use a BT keyboard in Android's gameboy, snes, and nes emulators? Would I be able to map keys onto the keyboard? I have no idea whether or not these emulators are designed to be compatible with them, although I do know that you can map keys onto the Droid's physical keyboard. Would it be any different with a BT keyboard?

Wow, that thread took a long time to catch up too after a thankfully distracting weekend... makes the wait a little easier after all. Thanks again to all you tipsters, people working hard at gathering info, and those just working at keeping the rest of us entertained in the meantime. Can't wait to finally own this incredible phone, and one from a company that had one of my favorite ad campaigns in quite a while. (The first and best of the You ads)

Hmmmmmmmm - I hadn't seen those ad spots before.
HTC definitely puts a lot of thought into just about everything they do, it seems.

I am rarely impressed by commercials but I like those, especially the second one. It has a sort of powerful feel to it.

I think that is honestly what we should realistically bank on, especially if there is not an announcement today in regards to the Incredible. Steven's source is supposed to get his/her hands on the Incredible this week, and I believe that is just one of a few that have been mentioned.

I am going into the remainder of the day expecting only the MS phones to have an official announcement by MS themselves, and acknowledgement by VZW. At least by setting that expectation low and hoping for a pleasant surprise, I can assure you that I won't be adding to the countless "OMG...WTF...VZW sucks" type posts that will surely occur this afternoon if there is no official announcement.

Either way, I can guarantee that it will be entertaining on this thread this afternoon/evening.

Anything new that we hear today will be a leak. No way Verizon makes an announcement on a device like the Incredible to crap all over MS launching their new social based devices on VZW. It would be a terrible business move to announce competing OS like these.
