Help 4.2.1 Random Reboot

I bought a N10 tablet on Monday which was having a different issue that I made a thread about. However, I just wanted to mention that while I had that one for a day before returning it for a new one, it offered me the 4.2.2 update.

The new one that I got when I exchanged, has yet to offer me this update, and it soft reset on me last night while watching a locally stored movie. Hopefully I'll see the 4.2.2 update again soon.

Nexus 10 user here that has at least daily freezes or reboots on 4.2.1, even with location services disabled and completely abandoning Chrome.

I got the 4.2.2 OTA and installed it today. I am going to keep location services off and keep using Firefox instead of Chrome so the use case remains the same for a week or so. I will make sure to update with my experience on 4.2.2.

If all goes well, I will turn on location services and begin using Chrome as well and I will check back in after some time with that configuration.

I hope this solves your problem, but is should not do that. And if chrome is to blame, it should have only happen when you used chrome. You may have a defective device, or there could have been a glitch in your original program.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I share the same experience in regards to the frequency of lockups. However, I have kept location services enabled as disabling it made no difference.
I have been using Boat Browser over Chrome but perhaps I'll revert back to Chrome at a later time.

That said, I'll continue to use it normally and monitor any issues.

I just experienced a freeze and reboot on my Nexus 10 running 4.2.2 immediately after enabling WiFi. The previous uptime was 1 day 18 hours, which is better than my average (but not my max) under 4.2.1.

I've had a couple lockups and restarts since upgrading to 4.2.2. I gave my 10 a factory data reset yesterday and decided not to auto restore settings or apps. I also unchecked automatic restore under the backup and reset setting. I have not installed any of my apps yet, just have the apps that are baked into the stock rom. I'll continue to use the tablet like this and see if I experience any issues.

If all goes well, I'll gradually install my other apps and see if the restarts take place.

It's been around 66 hours since I performed the last factory reset to my tablet and I have not encountered a freeze/reboot. This is my maximum uptime since receiving my tablet all the while using Chrome and having location services enabled. As mentioned in my previous post, I did not choose to auto restore my apps nor their settings after resetting my device.

This leads me to believe that an app running in the background was causing my issues. I now have the time consuming task of installing my apps one by one to determine which one is responsible.

I'll post my findings.

I've been following as many threads as possible about Nexus 10 reboots, and an odd thing just occurred.. I came across Safe Mode earlier today, and was surfing around on the N10 (in Safe Mode) looking for SM threads.

I came across a thread on the Nexus7Nexus10 forum at Safe mode and blow me down, when I should scroll down the page my N10 froze and rebooted!

LOL

The only odd thing about the page is some flashing forum indicator which you may see for yourselves.

I am rooted on JB 4.2.2
