I still can't fetch the Jelly Bean OTA. Feel like I'm the only one...

Every time I go to "system updates" I get the "Your device is up to date" message. I'm using a Droid Razr MAXX.

I've tried clearing data from Google Frameworks and then trying to pull the update, but I get the same message. I'm on the verge on downloading the update and updating over USB, but I had a bad experience the last time I tried something like that and would prefer to get the OTA.

Has anyone else not been able to pull the OTA update yet? This is really frustrating. The soak test ended, what, 5 days ago?

Wow...apparently something is going on.

After getting tired of waiting for the OTA, I tried to do a manual install. However, I keep getting this message...

"assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop

(Status 7)

Installation aborted."

Not sure what to do at this point...

In about phone, look at "system version" and not the "android version." Does it contain a 211 or a 215? This will tell you what update version you need to apply.

Also, I've received the error message that you are receiving. The only way that I could do the update was to do a factory reset. It's a pain, but it may be the only way to get you undated. But before we go there, let's find out what system you're running and get you the right update file...

My Android version is 4.0.4, and my system version is 6.16.215.XT912.Verizon.en.US.

I've never rooted my phone at all, and just did a factory reset. Still unable to pull the OTA...everytime I try, it just says, "Your phone is up to date!"

And I've downloaded the actual 338 MB file from Droid Life and have attempted to install it over USB, and that's when I get the error message I posted above.

I mean, my phone should at least be able to detect the OTA, right? Is there a chance that it simply hasn't rolled out in my area yet?

Take it to a corporate store and have them update it.

As stated earlier you are NOT on the right upgrade path and need to roll back to .211. You are on .215 which will not allow you to upgrade to JellyBean. Roll back to the upgrade path version and you should be just fine.

Ah, ok.

Do you know of where I can get a safe/official .211 build for the Razr Maxx?

I'm also interested in how I ended up getting stuck with the .215 build...

Just want to thank everyone for the responses in this thread. I found the stock OTA .211 ICS build and installed it on my Razr Maxx.

After booting up, I went straight into "about phone" and "system updates" and did a check, and sure enough, it pulled the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update. Downloading now.

Thanks again.

I'm in the same boat as you. Where did you find the .211 ICS build?

Does anyone know when it will be available for LG optimus showtime?????

Sadly, you're in the Motorola Droid RAZR forum, so many of us will not know about LG's plans for the Optimus Showtime. That said, I did spend a little time with Google and I can't find anything about the phone (other than it's sold at Walmart) that would tell me about LG's plans to upgrade the phone.

Sorry.
