Root Automated All Bloatware Removal version 2.4 (LG Spirit 4G rooted)

This is bugging me lol. Has to be something tied in the system > app folder. I'll play with it again tomorrow. I really love the little popup texts.
If you find the culprit, please do share. :D

I spent over an hour last night pushing each apk 1 by 1 rebooting after each and still didn't find the apk that breaks the popup (I got through about 80% of the list). :banghead:

I eventually gave up & restored my CWM backup, and all fixed now, but with most bloat back. :(

In order to find what breaks the popup, you have to run the script to debloat, then push each apk 1 by 1 till problem is fixed.

Easiest way is to create a folder on external sd with root explorer and place all apk's in there, then move them 1 by 1 to corresponding directory & setting permissions and rebooting after each and testing.

I got a hunch it could be a widget since I did not restore any widgets in my test.

Been working on this for a few hours now, couldn't find it either. I would delete an apk, then send myself a text. It was popping up every time, then I decided to reboot and it stopped working. But I didnt delete anything new before I rebooted because it was working before that. This is really weird. I'll try loading widgets, reboot, and see if it works again.

After you delete an apk you have to reboot and text yourself before deleting another one.

I gave up because I ended up rebooting my phone like 15 times and was too time consuming.

Note
The script also deletes com.lge.shutdownmonitor.apk which shouldn't be deleted or your phone will take really long to reboot. I've done comparisons, and without it takes much longer to reboot (too long).

Messaging was working, then I deleted this batch all at once:

LGDefaultAccount.apk
LGDefaultAccount.odex
LGDrm.apk
LGInstallService.apk
LGInstallService.odex
LGOnScreenPhone3.apk
LGOnScreenPhone3.odex
LGSetupWizard.apk
LGSetupWizard.odex
LGSystemServer.apk
LGSystemServer.odex

When I tried to reinstall them one by one, it still didn't work! Makes me wonder, is the link for the bloat backup from THIS phone or from the Motion?

These are the only apps I didn't check because I didn't think any of these would be the culprit.

/system/app

CarHome.apk
CarHome.odex
LGSetupWizard.apk
LGSetupWizard.odex
SetupWizard.apk
SetupWizard.odex
Sportacular.apk
Sportacular.odex
WeatherWidget.apk
WeatherWidget.odex

/system/apps/bootup

LGWorld.apk
LGWorldClockWidget.apk
Metro411.apk
MetroStudio.apk
MyExtras.apk
PocketExpress.apk

It was LGSetupWizard.apk and LGSetupWizard.odex. Everything else is debloated and the popup text still works after reboot. I'm uploading bloat from the Spirit so we'll have the actual files from this phone and not from the Motion. I'll post the link shortly.

Since it hasn't been posted already, I made the edit to the script to remove those two files from the debloat list. Here it is:

remove_bloat.sh
