Atrix HD soon to be obsolete

Just curious if the reps at the store gave you a reason why it was going to be obsolete?

No reason, best buy couldnt tell me either :( i wanted it but im stuck with lg optimus g. They said atrix has doul core processer, can only expand up to 32 gig sd card, bad battery life vs my lg which has quad core processer, expand up to 64 gig sd card, better battry life

the battery life is abysmal, but there is a mod, if you really were set on the atrix. it's too late now of course. motorola is partnering with google on the new "x' phone, or whatever they are going to call it. i'm curious to see how that turns out.

i was not a fan of the lg in the store. too rectangular. feature-wise it looks nice, but i just didn't like the aesthetic. i love the look and feel of the hd. i guess everyone's definition of obsolete is relative.

Their response is likely due to what they are supposed to be pushing at the time. Look at this objectively. They want you to buy certain products. It is not a coincidence that AT&T only sells 1 Moto phone and Verizon sells like 5.

Now, what does 'obsolete' mean. The Atrix HD is currently on 4.1 JB. That's the best you'll get right now unless you buy a Nexus 4 or root/unlock the BL. There are some new things coming for Moto, like the X-Phone and Moto Nexus, but an AT&T sales rep would have no idea if and when AT&T will be getting these phones. Yes, there are newer phones with better hardware, but those could be called 'obsolete' too, very soon.

IMO, Moto is doing MUCH MUCH better, and MotoBlur is actually pretty darn close to stock. This is a much better feel on the phone than TouchWiz, Sense, or Optimus UI. Just my opinions.....said all of that to say, do your own research before buying...don't let a sales rep make that decision for you.

I thought I'd try to get this in between bites of shoe leather. I was a bit ticked off at Moto after the premature implosion of my HD. After 2 stinker warranty replacements, third time was indeed the charm and I have a fully functional Atrix HD that works as it should and again I can not abide by people that do not like the battery life. Anyway, long story short, if you get a good one, this is as good as any phone on the market, save for the ONE or SGS4 ... and that's simply a hardware thing. Quad core is quad core ya know.

I take it all back .... I sing it from the rooftops ... Motorola makes great phones and there is simply nothing wrong with a properly working Atrix HD.

I have said it before and I will say it again, for the price you simply can not beat this phone, and really unless you spend $200 or more (subsidized) you will not get a better handset.
