Root [Boost Mobile] Battery Usage/ Draining

For some reason my battery drains so quickly, I could be using it for an hour and it drops from 99% to 81%, I have DX Battery Saver Pro, it seems to help a bit but not too much, I don't even run a lot of programs, the most I run is Spotify, IMO Messenger, and SMS Pro. But it's always my LTE Data and Wifi draining my battery, Is there a really good app that can actually work and save battery life, or something that I can use for my android to stop the battery from draining so much? Or is it my battery is getting bad and i need a new one? Thanks for the help.

Have you checked your governor settings? It could be running at 1.4 ghz performance all the time.

I have it on conservative, that sometimes help but sometimes doesn't, i usually have my voltage control on

You can check if you battery is bad by spinning it on a smooth, flat surface. If it spins, then the battery is inflated and you should get a new one.

Usually battery saving apps can use MORE battery than it saves. I forgot where, but there was a thread discussing the topic.

I took it out and spinned it, it doesn't spin really unless i flick it hard enough it just turns 90 degrees lol so i'm guessing it's not bad and really? then i'll un-install the battery saving app. haha

Have you tried using Mercury0x000d's powernap script? I have screenshots that confirm it actually works and saves TONS of battery life when screen is off. You might wanna look into adding it to your phone. Also have you tried seeing what processes might be constantly running??

Do turn off your LTE and Wi-Fi when you are not using your phone?

Also, when you go to Settings -> Battery, what are the main consumers of battery life?

That's about it on a typical day, and theres also one more program running below SMS Pro and it's Spotify
Also I adjust the brightness depending where i'm at.
Oh and I do turn it off but then I just turn it back on sometimes, I use it while i'm in class haha but i usually only put it on when i know i'm going to text/ im someone.

Might wanna start using Merc's powernap script, it'll help a bunch. IMO is using alot of battery though, and so is gosms...

That's a large chunk of battery Wi-Fi takes out ._.
That doesn't even happen to me when I'm home all day and don't charge my phone.

And cell standby seems to take ALOT of battery. Do you have poor network signal (for calling & texting) on your phone where you live?

I have poor terrible network coverage and mine isn't even that bad .__.

no, usually when i go to my classes i get sucky signal but thats about it, and yuh now you know what i mean. and what struggle i'm having.

Have you checked your wifi sleep policy its under wifi setting then press menu and select advance

Here you go

This has to be used with the Alien kernel, and it goes inside /system/etc/init.d2. Just drop it in the folder, reboot and enjoy!

Actually since we're on CTmod it goes into /system/etc/init.d
are we supposed to remove the .txt extension when dropping it in the init.d folder? Or do you leave it as is?

Hmm... when I tested it, it didn't function properly when placed in init.d, only when inside init.d2. Maybe a kernel swap is in order? And no, there's no extension on the filename, just plain ol' 90_PowerNap.

No, you should already have the init.d2 folder. If you don't (and you're running the Alien kernel) them yes, you can create it. You also may need to set execute permissions on the folder and/or PowerNap itself.

any init script placed in init.d on CT will work. just make sure the permissions for it are rwxrwxrwx or 777 if your using terminal and reboot.

if your having battery issues install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 and let it monitor the phone for a few hours then check to see whats draining it. if nothing looks weird your battery is probably going bad.

I renamed it, thats all. I put it where Bloodawn said. I do have that lag on wake up now, but thats what I want, I know for sure its working.

That's weird... I just tried it on my phone and when in init.d2 it will not boot. I'll have to look into that.
