Root [ROM] Angry Bean / CM 10.1 [build 08.08.13]

Add me to the list, I'm not receiving MMS. Anyone had success recovering from a no-MMS state? Have tried APN restore and other VVM fix package so far.

I have always had MMS in/out problems. Despite the ROM adding is fixed or included. The only way I get around it is using voice dialer to "open APNs" then adding "http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?" under MMSC in settings. Works every time.

Yeah, I edited my APNs a while back, and have used "APN Backup & Restore" to restore them when I've had problems in the past. I'd already done that, and my MMSC setting is already set to that value.

I've verified my outgoing MMS works (although I only tried it after my APN restore), but I haven't seen MMSs from yesterday come through that I know were sent.

I have been able to send and receive MMS but I have to make sure that my 3g is on before they send me a MMS though.
I've had 3g active at various points (when my 4G signal hasn't been strong enough somewhere, but haven't seen yesterday's MMSs come through.

To both of you, if your fix is not in place do you get your MMSs once it *is* in place, or do they disappear into the ether?

Hey Guy's, stupid question on my part,I should know this, but how do I install the rom without Google restoring all my old apps? I do want all my contacts though.Oh yea. Luv the rom. Thanks Guy's.

Pay attention for the pop up that apps are being downloaded, press it then press cancel all. (also could be a number too)

I have also found if you skip logging in during initial setup and setup Google account afterward it doesn't try to install all the apps

So after reading some, it may be because the phone is set up to reject received messages if your memory is low. So waiting until the wimax logs fill up my phone may trigger this setting. The problem is, even if I flash it BEFORE the logs fill, I still get the error.

Again, SMS works 100% without flashing the wimax log fix. After (no matter when "after" is), I cannot receive any SMS

I can't say for sure, but I haven't noticed any changes. It still notifies me of travel times between home, school, and other locations if that's what you are wondering about. I believe it likely uses your network location if reporting is not set.

IMHO, the incredible battery savings you gain far outweigh the few apparent benefits to be had by leaving device reporting on anyways.

There quite a few people discussing the different location settings on various forums. I googled "does unchecking report from device effect google now" and found a few.

If you are referring to the travel times, I'd say only marginally. I usually dismiss it because I know how long it generally takes to get between those locations at most times of the day (commuting bites ha).

One thing it does that's pretty useful is giving you travel times to some place you have searched for. For instance, a few weeks ago I searched for local drive in movie theaters on my laptop and found an interesting one close by. When I picked up my phone after I was done, Now told me how long it would take to get there from my current location. A little creepy, but cool nonetheless ha.

But I would definitely recommend turning of the device reporting setting I mention earlier. I was only get about 6-7 hrs battery life tops before I turned it off, but now I'm easily getting triple that. In the time I had it enabled, I saw zero difference in the way Now behaves.

My experience doe's not interfere with Now at all. Just leave location history checked and location reporting checked. As long as you have enable sharing unchecked you should be OK.
