Well I have been running Slim Bean now for awhile and I'm really loving this rom, its extremely stable, fast and so many features. I found this on youtube and figured I would share, the version he is running is 3.0 but it has been updated to 5.3 which is another reason I like this rom as its updated quite frequently...............:D Take a look lol.............;)

Edit: as of this writing they have updated again, to 5.3 lol

Update: New version 6.0 has Lightning Zap Phase 3, thought it was fast before, it really rocks now.............

Grr... now I wanna try 5.3 to see if maybe my speaker phone will work..friggin sucks because I've tried alot of different roms but this one had NOTICEABLE performance increases, especially with the lightning zap kernal which is now built in..

do you still use the same Gapps version with the 5.3 release?

I'm on touched by sg4 v1.4 which isn't bad..some how it seems alot better then v1.2 so I would have to redo everything to get on slim

Well so far so good, checking it out now, seems even more smooth and still extremely fast. Yea you will need to do 5.0 and then do a wipe cache partition and dalvik cache wipe and then install the 5.3....;)

Yes, you would.Touched by GS4 is a TW Jelly Bean ROM. You would need to need to do the full flash with wipe for reformat of the partitions of the phone (TW JB is different), and you would need an ICS Modem

honestly, I have two bluetooths but I switch to speaker phone on/off so quick like when I drive by a cop when im driving or if I'm home and sitting at my desk that riggin up a bluetooth ( and keeping it charged when I actually go to use it) is more of a pain.. no biggie, with the new anker battery I'm getting there is really minimal differences between tw and aosp as far as battery and performance really.. also , for some reason the tethering seems to work better on touched sg4 ..maybe because it uses the native app? either way I just keep an eye out on signifiicant updates

I do understand, I do love my Bluetooth and it has a nice battery life but can be a pain sometimes, Im testing The Blu Kuban now with JB GB27 v1.3.0 with AGAT tREC_v0.3.5 recovery kernel and I have it overclocked to 1400, its running very nice and snappy but it doesn't have the features Slim has but figured I would give some overclocking a chance and see if its worth losing some features lol......:D

I have found the Pegasus governor is decent on battery and not bad on performance. Also, I use noop io scheduler. The biggest battery drain for me is WiFi along with Screen. I found if I let my WiFi and 3g sleep when the phone sleeps, the battery is much improved. DS battery Saver will let you sleep those automatically when the phone sleeps and wake them an intervals to check for mail etc.

Just switched to slimbean last night. Did anyone change the governor or scheduler settings from default? If so, which settings are giving you better battery life or performance? I am having major issues with battery drain with stock and cm10.1 roms.

Also if you downloaded the lastest version with Lightening Zap you can tweak it more, I did this and improved it even more:

The governor tweak is set for a fairly balance of performance and battery life. If you find yourself needing battery life over performance, you can make some minor changes. Here's how:
1 Download Script Manager from the market (it's free)
2 Open Script Manager and navigate to /system/etc/init.d
3 Press menu/more/advanced options and select mount as RW
4 Select 01governor and select "edit" at the top (this will open the file in a text editor)
5 Uncomment (remove # in the particular line) and change:

Code:
echo "45" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold;
To:

Code:
echo "70" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold;
Only change values in increments of 5 for the up_threshold.
6 Select menu/save
7 Press the skull and cross bones icon at the top (this will allow Super User)
8 Press run, close app and enjoy
This will result is slightly slower performance but higher battery life.

;)

Well ran The Blu Kuban with JB GB27 v1.3.0 with AGAT tREC_v0.3.5 recovery for a few days and have switched back. Its a fantastic rom, one of the best of TW roms out there but still cant compare to Slim in my opinion for a lot of reasons, the lack of all the options plus and this is a big one for me, performance. It just seems the TW roms are not as fast, true they are very smooth and responsive but I get that from Slim. And the main thing for me(again its just me lol) is the bench marks, I get well over the 11,000 with Slims new build and not one of any of the TWs roms I tried even (overclocked to 1600) will get over 9000, but again this is all just my experience and opinion. I so look forward to when the Lighting Zap is in phase 4 so Slim can be overclocked lol................:D

Odd I get 10,500 to 11,000 without over clocking on standard GB27 (depending on what all I have running). If I let it run up to 1400 then i am quite well past 11,000.

That's fantastic ;), im sure I have something running in the back ground that's slowing it down, just going to have to play with the TWs more to get to know them better, I did notice tho they have a lot more running than the AOSP roms but again more experience will get me better results. Thanks..:D

im running this rom right now but it won't download any of my apps because none of them are compatible with my device. Did wipe x 2, this, gapps for 4.2 and boostmmsfix.

What build are you running, when I first started with 4.3 I had the same issues with some apps but not with 5.0 or 5.3, just make sure your running slims gapps instead of the standard gapps..........
