So my razr maxx has been top notch even after ISC update. I have been using apex and nova for several months now and slowly have been noticing my phone slowing down and very buggy. I have done factory reset 2 times and just refused to accept these launchers or any launcher to be the culprit.

Well, I've be running stock launcher for a month now and my phone has never been better. Responsive, quick to the touch and just a pleasure to have it work like it should. I hate to admit it (and I have paid for these launchers) but I truly believe these launchers are the reason for slowing down my phone.

ok, call me stupid.....but how do i do a cache parrtition wipe via the recovery menu?

my maxx with apex has become HORRIBLY laggy/buggy the past few weeks.

THANKS.
Turn the phone off....hold down the power and both volume buttons at the same time for a few seconds, a menu will appear....use the bottom volume button to scroll down to "recovery"....use the up volume button to select recovery....there will be a pause....when the android appears on the screen...push both volume buttons at the same time, another menu will appear...use the down volume button to scroll down to "clear cache partition"...use the power button to select it...it will format the cache...when its done....push the power button to restart the phone....and you're done.

well, i've been doing this now for two days...but i'm having a problem with this step:

"when the android appears on the screen....push both volume buttons at the same time, another menu will appear...."

each time i've tried this, when i get to THIS step, the green android w/red triangle with explanation point in the middle of it FREEZES....and no matter how (or how long) i push both volume buttons....NOTHING happens. i can NOT get the next menu to appear at that point.

i then wait for a solid minute or so, then the android disappears, and the phone eventually restarts itself (back to square one).

HOW to accomplish this step if nothing happens when i push both vol buttons at that step?

thanks!

I found that it is very sensitive on that step to u pushing both volume buttons at exactly the same time, also the next menu doesn't appear until u release the volume buttons, i don't know the exact count on how long the button press is, but I usually hold it down for about 30 seconds, n when I release them, the next menu appears!

I used to have problems getting the menu to pop up when I pressed both volume buttons down firmly. I'd press and hold and sometimes the menu would pop up while other times it wouldn't. Then, I tried pressing both volume buttons down simultaneously lightly and releasing them immediately and I've found that works the best. It's not at all like when you're trying to put your phone into safe mode. Try a quick press and release and see if that works for you.
