Hello all,

My Optimus is probably 1.5 years old and it works great. However, since a week or so I have been experiencing battery issues.

Allow me to explain it.

I fully charge by battery, then I proceed to use it accordingly. Listen to music, browse online, the usual stuff. When I do this, nothing goes wrong. My battery level decreases slowly overtime, as it should.

Now, when I use navigator, e-mail program or what not and my battery level is around 70-80%, within a minute my phone will shut down and indicate my battery is empty. It has happened several times now. Today it happened again. I checked the level just to be sure and it was around 60%, I activated navigator app as I need it for a minute (I have 1 standard battery indicator in the top corner and 1 battery app) and within 30 seconds my battery died and my phone said it will shut down. The battery indicator in the top right corner suddenly became red, flashing and was "empty". My battery application however showed 45% battery level.

After an hour or so I started up my phone again and it worked and my battery level on the application said 41% and the battery indicator at the top of the screen also shows around that. It was green and little over the half of the battery.

After that I started using internet again and browsing and after 5 minutes, again the message stating my battery was dead and my phone shutdown. Being frustrated I booted my telephone again and this both indicators said something different. See the screenshots.

So I didn't use my telephone until I got back home. Once back home I plugged my telephone into the charger, immediately booted my telephone and the bloody indicator of android said 35% battery level and so did the other battery application...

I'm seriously wonder what is wrong with my telephone/battery...

Help is appreciated and many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Schaapje

Have you checked to be sure that the battery has a tight fit to the contacts? I seem to remember reading another user with this issue placed a small piece of paper against the battery (opposite to the side with the contacts) so that it was more snugly pressed against the contacts.

Yes, I did check that and I placed a paper there just to be safe. Regrettably, that did not work either.
