I'm glad I did it. It didn't revolutionize the device for me, but it does seem faster and better on the battery, and while Google Nav won't replace my Garmin, it's a nice addition.

ok I think im gonna wait till the end of the week and if the ota does not come Im dive into it. Alright have it downloaded. The only thing really stoping me is that if this mess up my phone I can not go back to 1.5. However, will I still have the option of root.
Just diving deeper into the beat.

check out the 2.1root thread, then you can go back to 1.5 for the 2.1OTA when it comes out.

Just remember to root before you upgrade to 2.1...

i feel like i may have read this somewhere before, but ignored it until it started to affect me...

maybe 75 percent of the time i get a call, the ringer is absurdly loud. like much louder than what i have it set at. it's becoming a nuisance to always be the guy with the suuuper loud ringtone haha

Same here, itll show dialing, then the time counter starts, but no sound and the other person cant hear you either...

I do not think I need to root in order to use the offical unoffical 2.1 v2 that was release. I believe I just have to do the Vol. down & power Hboot methoid. I was just wondering if I do not like this version I herd the only way to go back was through rooting. But thx you for replying to my post

Correct - but you mentioned both rooting and upgrading. You can do one and not the other - but if you want to do both, you need to root before upgrading.

In other words, you can do:
Root
or
Upgrade
or
Root -> Upgrade

What you can not do is:
Upgrade -> Root

Hope that clarifies what I was saying.

Also, +1 for the "no sound" bug that mbarry55 and MOS95B are experiencing. I'm rooted (running ivanmmj's 0.8T2), and still haven't been able to kick this one. I'm missing a lot of calls, and I'd love to find a fix / workaround.
