Help Random Notification Sound

Yes, I am too. The only notifications I have set are 'Battery over voltage' and 'Battery overheating.'

I'll turn them off, monitor how it goes and report back.

Thanks chaps!

Those were the only two settings I had on also and they were the ones I turned them off yesterday. Also, I'm pretty sure the app had an update yesterday, because I had to go and manually re-launch it after the update. That's what made me think about checking the notification settings. I wonder if part of the update was to fix the notification bug?

Same here. I had the Mantis tone enabled here and this seems the likely suspect. Although I fail to see at the time how the battery could be overheating or over voltage as I hadn't picked up the phone for some time and it was stone cold.

Do you have NFC turned on? Is it perhaps near your wallet, with a NFC credit card, or near a NFC tag?

Ah-ha!

I had a mystery notification sound every time I unlocked my phone, even though the unlock sound was turned off.

Your comment made me realise, I have the badge to enter my building in one of the card slots on my phone cover, which must have NFC.

I turned off NFC and it stopped bleeping at me...

Good catch!

I was driven up the wall by this.

turned out it was my oyster card (London underground NFC card). The phone was in a leather wallet style case, which had a slot to hold credit cards ( hence oyster card) .

So open case, no problem. Fold it back (eg in sat navigation holder in car) it is ALMOST close enough to trigger NFC "boing" .... go over a very small bump .... It moves closer, "boing". Take it , no sounds, fold back case to investigate .... "boing" ... clue was in comment above ... many thanks

Just for what it's worth... another possibility for anyone who has the random notification sound. Took me about 2 months to figure mine out, because there was no rhyme or reason to when it happened... except it only happened when I was in the car.

In my case, it was when driving through a "no Verizon zone" (which admittedly there are very few of) and it was my phone notifying me that it was now roaming on a different network.
