I just got my phone sgh-i337 got it unlocked and its now on the t-metro network and I am dieing to root this thing and put a rom on it but from what ive read the latest update to the att phones ruined that. So my question I guess is how do I go about dropping back an update to an older one maybe so I can get this thing rooted...also im not sure if the bootloader being locked has been fixed or if there is a work around for it. This is my first galaxy phone and im loving it very much and dont wanna turn it into a very expensive paperweight. Thank u all in advance for ur patients and future help. :):):)

you can use odin to flash back the device. what firmware are you on?

I looked and It is on ucuamf3. But it was like that when I got it 2 days ago. I also bought the odin app from the market and when I try to open the app it says I didnt allow su permission but I cant allow su because im not rooted yet which is y I got the app in the 1st place because I read that odin is what ur supposed to use if u own a samsung device basically but idk...thx 4 the quick response

there is a root method available for that firmware:

---> Root AT&T Galaxy S4 I337 on UCUAMF3 Firmware

edit: regarding the odin app for android, ive never used that personally. every time ive had to use odin i used the version for PC (which is free) just my two cents.

Right on thx man and I appreciate the 2 cents as well ill try that as soon as I get home

AT&T Galaxy S4 ROMs | GalaxyS4Root.com

i like paranoid android, lots of customization.

I cant seem to find a way to get a recovery to work on this phone and ive looked all over the interweb and the only hope I thought I found comes back as page not found when I try to click on the link for all the links for the loki recovery...but from what I have seen of the phandroid android rom id like to get it on my phone but I guess I can wait for the bootloader fix to b released if there isnt a way to put a recovery and rom on this right now

OK awesome I have been trying but I didn't want to end up using a sketchy place and get screwed over what were the requirements to get the code?

Sorry for taking so long to respond...I think all I needed was my imei # for them to verify the phone and carrier and to c if the imei is good or bad and the carrier ur phone is branded to. Then I think they send u a verification email to make sure its the correct email then u gotta wait like maybe an hour(might b less or more than that) depending on how long it takes them to find ur unlock code and email it to u. Then u gotta get a working sim once u pay and get ur code and put it in the phone (the sim card) and power ur phone on and enter the code u were given and u should b unlocked after that. Then u can take the phone to any carrier and get it up and running.

I checked the metro website it said it wasn't supported I just have to go to actual store and get it hooked up?

OK I'll go to the actual store and see and how is the service working for you?

The service where I live is hit and miss with getting 4glte service but it has gotten better since i got the phone but all the other times that its not on 4g I get an E or a G where the 4g would normally b...I think when it shows the E thats the 3g and the G is 1x but im not sure because I now know from reading a bunch about this phone that the radio basebands or frequencys arent all the same. There r a couple missing basebands or radio frequencys that t-metro has that att doesnt but t-metro is wrkin on updating there systems and reworking there towers so we on the t-metro network will have the highest spectrum frequency of any carrier...but until then we either have to deal with it or try to find a mod to either flash to our phones that has the other radio frequencys or something of that nature
