The only thing I find interesting in 4.2/4.3 is the ability to place widgets on the lockscreen - why get into a twist about that?

You can place widgets and more with Go Locker. You can add an entire screen of widgets to access apps without unlocking your phone. Same with using the camera. This is the screen of widgets. Sorry for the size of the picture. It is the first time using the Android app to post a picture.
Has anyone else noticed a change in the boot/shutdown time since the TalkBack update?
Have you checked your settings since the update? The "Fast Boot" option in the "Battery" section may have been turned off during the process. If that's the problem, turning it back on should take care of both the on and off time. (When using "Fast Boot", the phone never completely shuts off. It stays in a hibernation state, so it saves time turning on & shutting off)
Man, that TalkBack update really bummed me out. It popped up today after I powered on the phone and I got all excited
Meh... You know, if VZW really looks at their customers that way, they're going to be in serious trouble... I mean, the real money is in their customers' loyalty.... Give your subscribers good phones and they'll stick with you... Throw a bone to people with older phones so they'll skip switching providers to get a better one somewhere else... Hell, upgrade your software so your tech people don't HAVE to provide support for 100 different versions of Android... on 1000 different phones... Rest assured, if VZW thinks they're saving money letting their higher end phones die of support timeouts, they are making a mistake. Software fragmentation is a nightmare for virtually every hard/software company in existance... Don't make it worse by willingly abandoning phones that are still in broad use.
Considering Verizon is willing to turn away potential customers/money by not activating new SIM cards so that people can use an LTE Nexus 7's on their network even though it's compatible and they're required to do so under federal regulations, it doesn't exactly say they care about customers. They only care about 2 things, the stability of their network, and profits.

I'll believe it when I see it. We haven't even gotten sense 5+ or 4.2.2... Items they hinted we'd have by now. Why should we believe them on KitKat?
While I generally agree, 4.4 is a little different because Google is making a big push to get it on as many phones as possible. It was specifically designed to work on older model phones. Google is trying to reduce the fragmentation that Apple likes to use against them.
Thanks for the heads up. I'm guessing this is not 4.4 though.
