VERSION = 3
PATCHLEVEL = 4
SUBLEVEL = 0
EXTRAVERSION =
NAME = Saber-toothed Squirrel
Bad news!
Loki doesn't support the new aboot which is needed to loki patch ZV5 kernel. Someone would have to ask Bliss if he can upate loki for ZV5 and provide him with aboot, boot, and recovery images for ZV5.
The kernel on the other hand doesn't appear to have changed. It's still the same kernel version as ZV4 (3.4.0)...
I was able to loki patch ZV5 kernel with ZV4 aboot, so if someone wants to take the risk of trying that then let me know. I have done alternate methods like this on other LG phones and have worked flawlessly.Code:VERSION = 3 PATCHLEVEL = 4 SUBLEVEL = 0 EXTRAVERSION = NAME = Saber-toothed Squirrel
Anyways, it's up to you guys to make the call. Let me know.
PS
Lol at LG's kernel name.
hmmm maybe that first test was just a lucky shot, tested again and it didnt give me as great as results i got this morning but also not as bad as it was on zv4 but it aint that far i can tell ya that. I'll be conducting more test until i can confirm that GPS is without a doubt completely fixed.
I've never tried to contact him and most likely won't since I don't know him. I've always just done the workaround I mentioned with no issues.How would i contact him? or since you already have the files can you pass em on to him?
I have tried several GPS apps as well as just google Maps. Google Maps has acquired a lock maybe twice without network assistance since ive purchased the phone. If i enable network assistance, it will find a lock quick but it is always horribly off by like a mile and it jumps around.
What I would like to do is restore my GPS settings to their default values but I cant because the phone code 3845#*870# doesnt work anymore.
If someone can figure out a way to access the LG hidden menu again, it would help. I have already tried creating shortcuts to certain activities like LG HIDDEN MENU and GPS Tools etc but they always give me an "application not installed" dialog.
I haven't gotten update. Could you send me the LG flash tool with the DLL Key as well as the ZV5 when it becomes available por favor senor. Mucho Gracias
no files for flashtool to update to zv5 we only have ota method. Go to settings apps and go to google framework services clear data and cache and force close it then go to system updates and hit check now. keep doing that you'll eventually get it. Thats how we force push otas to our phone.
Okay so i used that method and got the update. After it downloaded and rebooted it stopped halfway through the installation and booted the phone back up. I looked at my software information and im still on zv4...
probably didnt install at all and probably because you are not on complete stock. you need to return to full stock no edits to the system whatsoever before you can update.
Okay well all i have is root access so would a factory data reset work or do i need to use the lg flash tool?
it should say update aborted or something, try updating again and report whats on the screen before it reboots.
Okay so it didnt say update abort. It rebooted and the little android guy was the with the spinning thing. But after a few seconds a broken android guy flashed really fast and the phone booted back up. still on zv4
Shoukd probably use the flash tool to get back to stock and update. Dont forget to backup your data cause the tool will wipe it.
Can someone post a link to a working LG Flash Tool and ZV4 firmware? I really need it
"The item you are trying to access has either been deleted or is unavailable to you" That's the message I get for the Flash tool link.
"Access Denied" On the DLL file.
