The problem with replacing the glass on the N3 is the adhesive that is applied between the sensor and the glass.. Looks pretty tricky and more than I would ever attempt..
If it can go wrong I would be the one it happens to...
Good luck.. I did find one place that does replace only the glass for $150..

Yeah, this is EXACTLY the issue I have with doing this one myself. If it was just as simple as prying one piece out and laying in another, I'd be all over it. I'd be afraid of not using enough and ending up with weird "holes" or using too much and gunking up the insides. At this point, I'm just using it as is. Down the road, I might look into getting the whole front board (screen and digitizer together) as that repair looked easy enough to do if you've ever worked with computer parts.

They just don't make phones like they used to. I had my Startac in my hand, in the rain, in a blacktop parking lot. Slipped on some ice and the phone went flying. Landed about 25 feet from me. Picked it up, excused myself to the party I was talking to and finished the call. It still has a tiny spot where the "pebbly" surface is smooth. And if it had GPS in it. I'd still be using it. My daily "alternate" is a Motorola V551 - also about 12-13 years old. Works perfectly and not a scratch. The N3? I handled my daughter rougher the day she came home from the hospital. (She cost more too.)

Personally I wouldn't try and repair it myself (and I repaired CCTV cameras and TV/VDUs seemingly a lifetime ago) I think you could do more harm than good and you'll certainly invalidate your warranty. Still the option is there

This is a simple fix, 5 minutes for me, maybe 10 minutes for a 1st timer.
This is only the glass screen, not the digitizer, not the motherboard.
Educate yourself before handing out advice please.

replacing the whole screen part is .. not really hard.
but if you are not comfortable.. then dont do it.
NOT bad advice.. each person is different

if you are changing out the glass only.. well.. that is very intricate work.
watching some of the youtube vids..
I normally like doing things like this.. and would not want to try that!

you .. might want to check your own post.. for advise worthiness.

I on have changed the $12 piece of glass and found it fairly easy. I thought it was brilliant on Samsung's part to give the owner a chance to only break the glass, and not the digitizer as well like all my apple phones.
I advise the OP to research it before he gets scared into not even thinking about it. maybe he's handy enough, maybe not, don't scare him out of it beforehand.
