Help Scared to get this (Verizon)

Also a VZW user. I'm not having a problem with the GPS sensors. You can always download GPS Status, and you can go in Menu, Compass calibration, and also Manage-A-GPS State (Perform a Reset and Download). This may improve subsequent locks.

The biggest issue, if your coming from another phone which was running an older version of Android... and perhaps you've seen this already, the newest version of Google NAV is a bit different from what you might be familiar with.

I think the interface is clunky, and harder to use then the predecessor version. So so so many people have complained about this on the Google Forums... they seem to be trying to fix it, but the rollout caught many people off guard.

Google NAV works fine enough, but I wish they didn't update it in the manner they did. What I think you can do, if you can't live with it, is to go into Settings, Applications manager. Scroll all the way to the right to get to "All". Uninstall Updates, then Disable. Then side-load one of the predecessor versions.

I was very interested in getting this phone until i heard about the bad gps. Has verizon released an update to fix the gps? And is it really as bad as people some say?

Dude all phones have problems. The LG G2 is no exception. A very small number of people had problems with the GPS when it first came out. Go to the store and buy it, if you have any problems you have two weeks to simply return the phone. No big deal.

If you are letting the network set your date/time (Automatic Date/Time, and Automatic Timezone checked) in the phone (and you should), and if you have Location Access | Access to my Location (on) and Wi-Fi and mobile network location checked (I think you need these, otherwise A-GPS won't work and GPS will take forever to lock), then you might need to replace the phone.

Definitely download GPS Status and calibrate the Compass. That might affect performance in Google Navigation.

Likely, someone is going to tell you to try a FDR as well.

I had the LG G2 for about a week. No problems except for the poor camera. Especially the audio on recorded videos. Muffled, muddled background sounds. Often making the video sound like it was taken in a cave or underwater. Photos weren't as good as my S3 or s4.

The camera on the lg is seriously overrated, other than that it performed well, for the little time I had with it.

I would have tried exchanging for another G2. I've been super impressed with the camera/video on this compared to my wife's note3 and buddies s4.
