Every now and then when i try to unlock the screen on the Nexus 7 and i drag the unlock icon to unlock it, the screen just shuts off again. I can press the power button to bring the screen back on, but i'm unable to unlock it. The only way out of this is to restart it.
I don't think this is the dreaded touch screen issue that Google is pretending doesn't exist.
also want to add, it almost always has software that needs to be updated when it restarts. Not sure if related.
