Turning off app notifications

Glos.
So I've got a couple of games, notably Deer Hunter, Sonic Dash and PvZ 2, that keep popping up notifications about sales, new levels, whatever....usually just spam.

So I go to the applications manager, locate the app and uncheck the 'show notifications' checkbox.

However, whenr I turn my phone off at night and then back on again in the morning the checkbox is always checked again.

Is there any way I can get it to remember that I don't want to see notifications from an app? Shouldn't it do that anyway?

Seeing as the ads are notifications, shouldn't just unchecking 'show notifications' do the trick tho?

Yes that should do the trick!

Does the unchecked checkbox revert to being checked for anyone else if they restart their phone?

No this does not happen to everyone, it's unusual behavior. I suspect it's a bad installation. Had you moved the games to the external SD card? If you did then move them back to the internal memory, or better uninstall/re-install them (in the internal SD card).

Hmm that's a good point, I'm pretty sure they're all on the SD card. I'll try moving them back to the device storage and see if that makes any difference. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

This is my exact issue.

If the application is on the external SD card then the "Show Notifications" option always re-selects itself when the phone restarts.

I exchanged my phone, but I'm having the same issue on the new phone as well.

Does anyone know what causes this? Any of the earlier posters find a solution?
