Hello,
I have the LG Escape P870. After two or so years of abuse, something isn't working with the headphone jack. (I often throw it in my purse, and I also use it as an MP3 player when I work out, so I am surprise it even lasted this long.) I can only hear sound out of one earphone, the right one. When I put heavy pressure on the earphones in question I can suddenly hear sound out of both earbuds just fine. However as soon as the pressure leaves, the sound returns to just one ear.
I didn't want to purchase a new phone, and trying to find an inexpensive 32G MP3 player proved impossible. So I tried another route. I purchased a micro usb to headphone adapter for my phone. It fits just fine. However when I go to play my music it blasts through my speaker instead of my earphones. I assume my phone just isn't recognizing that I have earbuds in.
Is there any way to solve this issue without buying a new phone, a new mp3 player, or bluetooth headphones (simply because I find the sound quality lacking in most bluetooth devices) ? Perhaps there is some way to get my phone to recognize the adapter?
Before it is asked, since it's an easy troubleshoot, I have already tried carefully cleaning out any lint from the jack but this didn't do anything. I have also ruled out that it is my earphones, as I have tried multiple headsets on my phone and none work. I also tried the earphones in question on my laptop and they work just fine.
