Root [Virgin Mobile] [KERNEL] VaeVictus Kernel - Overclocked to 1.8Ghz [Updated 8-8-13]

Madbat you are intelligent just the person I need to ask, is it possible to trick your phone into thinking it has a higher resolution screen. Ive been messing with deadtrigger to use tegra 3 effects which are unsupported on our phone. It works great but I still see gaggies or aliasing in dead trigger and games like subway surf that run 60fps religously on our phone. I see when I tweak these games theres something called screen manager resolution and that is the resolution of our phone 480*800 I could mod that number but as soon as I go back to the game it resets to 480*800 because the phone knows that's the native resolution is there a way of changing this? If so how and what can I do to get games running at higher resolution and/or run with more antialiasing thanks if you read and happy holidays

Never thought about it. Mostly because screen res is dependant upon hardware. Even if you could trick it somehow, it would probably Bork your graphics because it would be trying to calculate resolution that its hardware isn't capable of. I think antialiasing adjustment is in 4.3. A hidden menu if I'm not mistaken. I believe we've squeezed just about all we can from this little trooper of a phone. You know I can't help digging around for some kind of definitive answer though. Lol

That remains to be seen. I haven't had the time to do a diff on the kernel source sammy released.

It's easy enough to flash a kernel if anyone wants to try. As always, backups are the key.

I'll download the source soon (my lunch period is in a few minutes). I have PLENTY of time to look over it now :D

What is the frequency of the kernel? I used Performance Control and upped the ND4 kernel to 1188 MHz, It was running at 918 MHz originally.

A cursory look at the defconfig and acpuclock tables shows 1.2GHz as max. The governor most likely lowered to 918MHz, as that what was needed at the time. You can test by undoing Performance Control and then observe your clock speed as you rapidly use a touch screen feature.
