I'm always interested in the next thing;)

gimme some time w/my new toy before I'll look for something new, will you, little traitor?:D

No wonder you are. M8 doesn't cut it, huh? :p

I'd be really interested in something like the phone w/the size of G3 w/full version of Windoz 8.1, though.

All those Android versions are so obvious. And even more powerful CPUs don't really excite me.

You lost me at windoz:p

I'll prob be interested in the G4 if they can increase battery life and solve for heat generation.

Nothing new here. Starting with Toshiba Libretto 50 original there were those tiny Windoz laptops. I loved them.

Any proof of the heat generation? Relating on the reviews from the stupid and/or biased reviewers?

Don't even talk to me about the battery life, I will sound as a very old record in response. :D

There's plenty of user threads that reference this on other sites (some of the most polarizing threads I've seen). I take no pleasure in this.... I wanted this phone:eek:

That said, it's not a bad device... it just doesn't meet my needs.

well, I'll find out soon enough.

Mind you, I am not a gamer.

Photos/Videos are my major priority.

And the phone calls, but of course.

And the root access.

And the sharp display, readable in the sunlight so I can read a book on the beach.

Everything else is secondary.

You edited after my original response:)

Nah.. I really like the M8. It's the first android device that the I can use without worrying about battery. I can get through a whole day of my usage without worry. Screen is great in sunshine and build design is unrivaled right now.

That said.... doesn't mean something better might not come along in a few months. As a consumer.... choice is a wonderful thing.:D

I quoted you and you quoted me, no editing after that. :p

As Iowa said, everyone has his/her priorities.

Wanna bet $5K something better will be there in 6 months?
investment in tech is wrong, you can never get the best and cheapest, the next best and cheapest is just around the corner..
but didn't I say this about 10 times in this thread alone? :D

I would be a number one fanboy if this puppy had a 1080p. If only! Also if only I could eat Moose Tracks ice cream non-stop and not gain weight :)

missed you rush.

now tell us again about evil vzw with their 2/16-only version :D

Jokes aside, many ppl say 2K display is brilliant, and they can find out the "blind" test difference between, say, S5 and G3 easily.

This case has no merit, Your Honour.

I would have bought 2 of these bad boys if they had made the G3 form factor (removable bat/sd card slot/screen and bezel size) with the G2 battery life and 1080p screen.

I would have been screaming "take my money!!!!!!!"

Hey, Best Buy dude was on a three device roll! If you are referring to staring a few inches away with micro eyes, very true ;) If referring to the overall negative a Qhd display nets and supported by reputable sites, the case is still on the docket. Anybody (not saying you are) that says the battery life, heat and performance are not impacted are in an odd perspective of technical denial.

The display looks fine, but absolutely not for what is compromised. JMO as far as not being worth it, but not the only person with this view.

Added: I will miss this thread...... We need a G4 with a Qhd X2 display :) People even then would tout the amazing difference ;)

Nope, you are fine and so is the device :). The device though is not for all folks just like any other.
While no phone is perfect for everyone, I will stick to my guns about this. The heating and battery should NOT be a negative. For light to medium users, this battery will last all day (my experience only, obviously). For true heavy users, you MIGHT get an extra hour of SOT with an S5 or M8, or if the G3 were 1080...........but that still wouldn't be enough to get you through a day with no worries. SO.....they made the battery magically deliciously removable for the heavy user. Only the S5 matches that, and the form factor on this (again, IMHO) blows the Samsung away.

I get the sense people are comparing it to what it COULD have been and not appreciating what it is.

Something I don't know how to explain.

How come Intel is not in the game for the phones CPUs?

They tried with a single core insisting that the Intel processing power was more important.

They had a few phones in Asia but mostly failed.

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/smartphones/smartphones.html

In 2013 they admitted the approach was wrong.

They're not done, and announced earlier this year that they're going for 64-bit models in 2015.
