Well, the first arc is about to end I believe.

I'll eventually watch it. Currently watching samurai x

So I saw The Devil Is A Part-Timer on Netflix. The subs are all hosed and the graphics weren't that great.

So, Kissanime to the rescue - Hataraku Maou-sama! And better graphics than Netflix - no idea what is up with that.

I'm a few episodes in, not sure what to think yet.

It's quirky but maybe has some promise.

Anyone familiar with that or the manga?

I've tried out some others -

Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen

^ Yet another giant robot series, however - it actually has a political thriller maybe a little reminiscent of the cold war stories where you don't really know who's pulling the strings. Much as I generally don't care for giant robots, I think I'll stay with this one and see how it goes. It has every potential of going either way for me.

Armored Trooper VOTOMS

^ Yet another giant robot series, so old school I swear they used 8-bit color. First dozen episodes seemed like it had a lot of promise. The Fugitive only with some occasional giant robots. Then it devolved into everything that could possibly be boring about giant robots.

^ Ok, it's classed as ecchi. With rare exceptions, I put ecchi right up there with giant robots. It's a comedy and it sometimes worked out at that. The ecchi jokes really didn't work out for me. I watched because of some rave fan comments. I expect you'll know by the 3rd episode if you like this one or not. I'd rate it a solid almost - meaning 3 stars out of 5. I very nearly did not own up to trying it.

In defense of giant robots, I'm on record as really liking Big O. With character names from Kurt Vonnegut, how could it have been less than excellent?

As far as Hunter's hiatus - I started late and missed the first (lower rated series) so that didn't affect me. I'm not clear if it's done or on hiatus again. Either way, it had good closure with the very beginning. If it's done, it was a great series. If it's on hold, then I guess good things are worth waiting for.

Still haven't started SAO II - hope it's worth it.

I've heard the devil is a part timer is pretty good. One guy I work with watched it all and says it was worth it.



I also got him hooked on Space Dandy.



Giant robots can be good. I've seen it work well. I've seen it be terrible as well.



I'm about to browse for something to watch. Just finished up Kikaider again, a classic.

Space Dandy ought to go down as a classic.

For a second, I forgot that I saw Devil is a Part-Timer a while back. It wasn't too bad.

EDIT: Psycho-Pass Season 2 debuted a few days ago. I don't think it's as good as the series premiere though.

I got in three days of mini binging (so I'm about halfway in) so, without spoilers - I can promise that you want to stick with it for a little bit.

It evolves fairly quickly. I wasn't sure and then got hooked at episode 4.

Magic Kaito 1412 seems to be new and promising.

And I don't know - I got back in to Akame ga Kill but after this last episode, it's just starting to seem like one long dogfight. Maybe it's just me. "Here's my hidden special power. Ok, here's my hidden EXTRA special power. No wait, I really have a Super EXTRA special power. Mind if I reminisce in the middle of this fight?" Anyway, it worked for Naruto so I don't know what my complaint is.

BTW, if anyone liked Code Geass: Lelouch of the Revolution, then I think that you're definitely not going to want to miss the R2 (series two) of that.

I haven't watched Akame lately, but I read the manga up to the most recent chapter. I do agree with you on that, it does seem like it is just a long drawn out dogfight.

I just finished re-watching Psycho-Pass and I must say, I'd forgotten how good that series was.

I did it so I could give series 2 a go - I've gotten through the opening of the first episode and I'm already intrigued. Thanks for the tip!

The second season to Mushishi Zoku Shou statred recently, if you care for that. I haven't seen the series yet though. Guess I have some more catching up to do.

I watched the first Mushishi, I liked it well enough.

Not sure I liked it enough to go for another series - but I do appreciate the tip!

I tried the magic girls (linked the other day, Madoka Magica) - the opening graphics were outstanding - but... Not sure if that's for me after an episode and a half.

I want a new Death Note or GITS or something...

I also want an Air Car. Or the Swordfish II.

So I began watching Mushishi, and I have to say its pretty interesting. I'll probably end up watching the second season too.

So what's this Arpeggio of Blue Steel that just showed up on Netflix?

Has anyone heard of Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (Parasyte the maxim) before? Looks promising after reading the synopsis.

Synopsis
Based on Iwaaki Hitoshi's science-fiction horror manga by the same name.

The 17-year-old Izumi Shinichi lives with his mother and father in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. One night, worm-like aliens called Parasytes invade Earth, taking over the brains of human hosts by entering through their ears or noses. One Parasyte attempts to crawl into Shinichi's ear while he sleeps, but fails since he is wearing headphones, and enters his body by burrowing into his arm instead, taking over his right hand and is named Migi.

Because Shinichi was able to prevent Migi from traveling further up into his brain, both beings retain their separate intellect and personality. As the duo encounter other Parasytes, they capitalize on their strange situation and gradually form a strong bond, working together to survive. This gives them an edge in battling other Parasytes, who frequently attack the pair upon realization that Shinichi's human brain is still intact. Shinichi feels compelled to fight other Parasytes, who devour humans as food, while enlisting Migi's help.
