Hi, i hope you can help with my issue with my m7 phone.

I have an issue with my phone randomly crashing and shutting down all of a sudden.

For example i may charge it fully to 100% and use it like normal.... then if i decide to watch say a 1 hour video..... it suddenly after some time (varies 30-90 mins) while it is playing it shuts down and goes black, and is not a normal shutdown.

When i try and press the power button it does not switch on... i then plug in and see all charge has been lost and it is at 0-3%??

I really want to get to the bottom of this issue, and hope you could help?

Do you think if i get the battery replaced with a new one it will fix this?
Or is the issue with the motherbaord/cpu/other..... which basically means my phone is not worth repairing and i should bin it?

I hope someone can help as this is a relatively new phone so should have no issues.

Thanks in advance

at this stage in the phone's life, it's no longer worth the cost to repair anything inside it. this is my own personal opinion based on the life cycle of these phones and the parts. you could probably find a used model in better condition for the cost of trying to repair this.

could be a faulty battery, motherboard, could be moisture inside the unit, could be an app...

as you play a video, this is asking a lot of demand from the battery and cpu to process the image, play it back with synced audio and video quality, all whilst handling other background processes (phones state, other sppa running etc...)

this is probably the original battery and if so, its life cycle has elapsed.

in my humble opinion, it's time to replace the device...

Hi, thanks for your reply. yes it is puzzling in what it could be.

Replacing the original battery is still quite cheap compared to me buying a brand new phone.

i could replace the battery.... and if it still gives issues... then i may buy a new phone.

i have used apps and they say the battery is good?

as i am no expert i think i would do this to reduce my costs...

what do you think? is it worth taking a punt on a new battery only?
