Official EVO Rumors and Speculation thread

After watching that video I have to laugh at the Job's letter and other Apple pundits saying that Flash will only work with mouse and keyboard.

It appears to work pretty damn well. Can't wait to see and use the entire web with my Android phone. To bad for the iCan't users. That kool-aid must be tasty since it is all they live on. I'll take my Android beer, Cheetos, porn, flash, hell everything oh and the cake too and sit back and watch the Apple faithful talk about how they don't need anything.

Now for my 2 cents and I am not trying to cause a problem but I think deterring people from posting because they may not use what some except as proper grammar is a bit much don't you think.. Especially since this is suppose to be a community. How would you like it if I made a big deal about you spelling grammar wrong? so should we complain about your post. Its just a bit petty for a forum.

There's a big difference between saying "I appreciate when people use correct grammar" versus "I don't think people who don't use grammar correctly should be able to post."

You're right. TouchFlo3D was the predecessor of the Sense UI. However, one big difference was that you COULD turn TF3D off since its just a custom theme over winmo, and winmo is not open source where as Android is, so that is why Sense is more than just a complex theme that you can turn and off. It is extremely far embedded into the OS itself that the phone would become inoperable if the UI is to be removed.

Thanks so much for the explanation, Outrigger. Makes more sense now (no pun intended).

All I know is that I can't stand TF3D's quirkiness and how it interacts with WinMo, but seems like Sense UI is worlds beyond TF3D (good sign).

Sprint Isnt going to sell the Nexus One.

Breaking: Sprint no longer selling Nexus One

I think that is a great move. The Nexus One was good for a while but technology is constanly improving and if Google choose's not to keep up with it then that is there choice. They still have a huge part of all the Android phones.

I personally love Google and there connection with open source software but the hardware aspect should be left up to other companies.

I made a print screen of a Rewards Zone coupon that they're currently offering for purchase of the Incredible.

Is there anybody that works at Best Buy, that can give some inside info as to whether they'll be doing the same for the EVO? If they do, I don't think there's any doubt that I'll be purchasing from Best Buy. It's only $15, but that's tax, so I'll take it.

I have a 15 dollar rewards coupon myself. It expires June 5th and if the phone comes out June 6th who knows if I'll get to use it. But I may just do Sprint so I can bill my account. Like someone else said by the time I get the rebate i n 4 weeks it will be time for my next bill. So I am hoping to just pay extra on my June and July's bill. I usually get them to waive the activation fee. It used to auto be waived for buisness people with discounts but I don't think they do that anymore. On my Pro 2 I got activation and shipping waived plus paid 199.

Edit: My BB store just said it may come out on the 6th but there not scheduled to get it till the 13th.. But that flash video was cool. I can't wait to get 2.2 and FroYo whatever it is. I know nothing about Android and all these names. But it showed watching a show from CBS so I am sure it will do the same at ABC. Sprint TV has ABC too. I can't wait to see how a show looks on the big screen of the phone.

i want to know when 4g is coming to los angeles, i live in orange county, which is a county over, and was wondering if the signal will reach to us also?

LA this summer? i forget, but this year for sure. BUT sorry there's no way the signal will reach OC unless you live right on the edge. I live in OC as well and have been asking about it. eieio is a source many people trust and he has told me that he knows that towers are going up in OC. there are also rumors that SD is getting 4g soon, so i think it makes sense that OC will be soon to follow. OC has a larger population than SD, and quite a bit of $'s too.

of course take that as you will because nothing but LA is official yet

one of the sprint stores near me has the evo was able to talk with one of the customer reps/ advocate to show me the phone.

He also stated that the evo will be available for public showing soon at 4G "experience" stores, while not all other sprint stores will have it.

Guessing what he means by 4g Experience is locations were 4G is available.

Anyone who is close by and wants to sweet talk the advocate to showing you the phone. The store is on Jericho Tpke, New Hyde Park, NY

I gotta be honest and say I am happy its been a little slower around here. I don't have to come home from work and read through 10 pages to find out one or two pieces of info. I'm not saying I don't enjoy all of the playful banter, but its nice for us to stay on topic more.

I understand what you're saying, it seems like several dozen people left to follow the cult of Jackson, heralded by Bishop Bill, but the good news is we don't need that sort of mentality here and there's less posts to follow!

(Just poking some fun here, don't take me seriously)

It's not surprising that the N1 isn't going to be sold by Sprint, but I do hope Sprint releases more Android phones soon......1 new phone won't be enough to win over everyone. Sprint needs to go for the more casual market as well such as Verizon did by releasing both the Droid and Droid Eris at the same time.

In particular, I've seen several non-tech minded women whom preferred the Eris to the Droid, but there is no such choice here (I know the Hero is essentially the same thing, but it could be perceived as being an old device by now)
