Not sure if anyone uses Amazon Prime at all, but I have a query. If I go to watch HD content on Prime the app tells me my device is not HD compatible and can only watch SD.

Personally I thought it was, I've watched many HD films on my phone outside of Prime, so is this an issue with how the content is streamed or that the N6 has not been added to the compatible list?

I'm talking about within the Amazon Video app from their store.

When I purchase some HD content it states I cannot playback in HD only SD. Example being Lord of the rings the two towers extended edition. Also when downloading to the device you only have SD quality options.

Slow reply on this one, sorry.. I've been in contact with Amazon and apparently no android phone or tablet supports HD playback through the app.

Strange indeed.

Further to your mail, I understand that you are unable to stream HD videos from your Motorola Nexus 6 - Android 6.0.1. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

At this time, HD video playback is not available on Android phones and tablets. You can watch HD Movies and TV shows on the following devices:

-- PC computers with Windows XP SP2 or newer
-- Wii U TV monitor (the Wii U GamePad only supports standard definition video)
-- Amazon Fire TV
-- Fire phone
-- iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch (running iOS 7 and above)
-- Xbox (Xbox 360 & Xbox One)
-- PlayStation (PS3 & PS4)
-- Fire Tablets (Kindle Fire HD/HDX and Fire HD/HDX)
-- Compatible HDTVs and Blu-Ray players from LG, Samsung, and Sony
-- Roku 1, Roku 2, Roku 2 XS, Roku Streaming Stick (MHL), Roku Streaming Stick (HDMI), Roku LT (2400X model), Roku LT(2700X model)

This is the reason you have been notified that your device is not compatible for HD videos. I hope you understand.

If you try to watch an HD video on a device that doesn’t support High Definition playback, we'll automatically provide a Standard Definition (SD) version of the video to watch on that device.
