My daughters Galaxy Tab 4 is having a problem since yesterday. The Wi Fi comes and goes from the tablet, I can even be next to the router and if the tablet start scanning it wont appear. I checked and it doesn't have an IP Address but it has a MAC Address. How can I solved this, my daughter is just crying because she cant use her tab. I tried looking for the IP at http://192.168.1.1 but appear that the page its not available. Help pleaseeeee, I already restore the tablet, also try the factory data reset and nothing. I'll appreciate all the help that you guys can give me.

In the past when I've had connection issues with a device, restarting the router has always fixed the problem. Especially considering the fact that this is a new issue, I would say there is a good chance that this will solve the problem as you already know that the tablet can connect to wifi.

Unplug your router from its power source for a few minutes and then plug it back in. Once it's booted back up, see if you can connect the tablet to your router again.

As for the ip address, the address you posted is most likely the router login page and you will not be able to access it from a device that is not connected to the wifi. Your router will automatically assign the tablet an ip address when it connects.

I'm sorry that you went to all the trouble of factory resetting the device. In the future, if this happens again, try restarting the router first. I once had a device that this happened to constantly. Restarting the router always fixed the issue; sometimes for a couple days, sometimes for a couple months. Never could resolve the underlying issue, but it is what it is.

I can only think of a couple things to try. Hopefully it's not a hardware failure on the device...

You could try connecting with WPS (Wifi Protected Setup). Bring the device near the router and on the device go to Settings > Wifi > Tap the 3 dot menu > Advanced > WPS Push Button

Then on the router press the WPS button. It will probably have an icon that looks like this:

Wait through the process and see if it connects.

The other option would be to get on the computer and login to your router with the IP address you posted and enter the username and password. See if you can assign a static IP to the device using the device's mac address.

That's all I can think of for now, especially since you've already gone to the extreme of factory resetting the device.

Can you tell me, does any wifi show up on the list to connect to or is it just your home router that won't show up?

seems to be some sort of a bug there, I have the same problem with a 7" tab4, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

I have done the same steps, turn the tablet off, router rebooted, went back to factory settings, and the same results... It works the same, sometimes it's there, then it goes away...

maybe a firmware update can fix this?

regards
