Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me with the quintessential question about how to connect a Nexus 6P to my Sony TV? (Bravia KDL-55W800c, Android TV).

I can't use casting because I am a pirate that is trying to watch BBC iplayer in Australia and casting disconnects when I start up my vpn app on my nexus.

I purchased a usb type C to HDMI but that didn't work because the nexus doesn't have MHL or something.

If anyone can please provide a link or an accurate description of what I require I would be grateful.

(I already have the BBC iplayer app on my phone and am able to watch BBC TV on the phone).
