Help Anyone else's Note 4 getting squirrelly?

    Or is it just mine?

I'm on the latest Verizon stock firmware. Unrooted. No weird apps or anything that wasn't on my Moto X Pure. But this phone is senile or something! I'll tap something, and the phone does NOTHING. I tap it again and it does something else. It's infuriating!

EXAMPLE: I'm on Craigslist, looking at listings. I'll tap on a listing and a whole different listing comes up... one that wasn't even on the screen! This thing seems to have a mind of its own!

It doesn't happen every time... but it happens enough to be really, really annoying.

I ran MalwareBytes to see if there were any rootkits or other boogers on the phone and it came up clean. I may try scanning with something else but for now, the only thing I can think of is that the digitizer is going bad.

So has anyone else here experienced this? If so, did you find a fault and is there a fix? I really don't want to send this thing off to get the digitizer (or whatever) replaced: it would cost more than the phone did, and it's really a phone to hold me over until the Note 8/S8 Plus is released.

    Thanks!

Okay, folks, I'm officially over this stupid phone. It selects things that aren't even on the screen, it opens apps by itself, and it's suddenly decided to just drop Bluetooth connections at random... usually in the middle of a call, when my phone is in my belt holster, and I have to frantically grab my phone out to continue the call. I'M DONE!

So I just did something - I'm almost embarrassed to say it - that I vowed I wouldn't do out of sheer principle.

    I bought a Note 5.

I know: not only does it have a non-removable battery (I can live with that), but it has NO microSD slot. Which means that everything I do will have to be backed up to the cloud because I trust internal memory about as much as I trust a career politician to do what they promise on the campaign trail. Maybe less. And my trusty 256GB card will go into safekeeping until the Note 8 comes out. Heck: even if the Galaxy S8 Plus comes out in April with an S-pen (and I'm reading indications that it will), I'll pounce on that. Hopefully, I can put up with a Note 5 for 3 months. Plus it was a really good deal.

FOR SALE: Note 4 cheap. Almost free! :D

The Note 4 that I bought from you Chief, is doing a lot of nasty crap lately.
biggest bug for me is the charger in it won't go to 100% anymore. it is stopping now at 60%

also, I installed one of those little apps that shows the reboot menu and it destroyed the menu needed to access the backups...
I am totally disenchanted with that guy's app.... he should have tested/warned that it totally overwrites the menu....

I no longer have the power up menu that I used to have...
