Fix for immediate "Call Ended" when making calls

Not sure if others have experienced this issue, but for some reason I started getting "call ended" when trying to make calls on my Nexus 6p w/ 7.1.1. After performing some basic troubleshooting, reset phone, reset all network connections, etc. I disabled the "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" / "HD Calling" / "HD Voice" (not sure of the preferred nomenclature but from what I understand it's all the same thing) in the Cellular Network Settings. From what I understand this would force calls to go out using the legacy cellular bands (not an expert here so I could be wrong on the exact process) and I was able to make calls again. I then went back and toggled "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" back on again and was still able to make calls.
I've had "HD Voice" enabled on my Verizon line for a few years now and not had any trouble, and I've had it enabled on this phone since day one, a little over a year ago. Outside of normal Android OS updates I don't do rooting or ROM changes.
Just thought I'd post this here in case someone else comes across this.

I've also encountered the same problem with my Nexus 6p and Verizon. Recently I was unable to access Voice Mail by dialing *86 or 1. would get the "call ended" message. To make matters worse, whenever I called another Verizon user who was unavailable their phone would ring 7 or 8 times and then hangup with "call ended" display not allowing me to leave a voice mail. I know that sounds nuts, but it was happening. Once I turned off the HD/Advanced calling it worked fine and I am able to once again leave VM for Verizon users. Must be some software glitch on 7.1.1. I've toggled back and forth on HD calling to see if I can create the problem and it does so I hope Android fixes this glitch because I would like to resume using the Advanced Calling feature.
