Boot Warning - LG V20

Factory Data reset. It's a boot option - wipes it clean totally and pushed the phone back to the way it came out of the box.

I have 2 questions before you do that.

1) do you have an additional memory card?
1a) did you format the card before putting it in the phone, or was it new in a package?
1b) if you do have a memory card did you happen to install it as expanded memory or standalone?

2) Did you reboot by pulling the battery out of the device? or just a power button, select restart?

OK so like 4 questions but 2 are conditional on an answer. sorry.

either way I'd check a few other things before a factory data reset personally. That's sort of the nuke it from orbit option.

uhm yes. Factory data reset - nukes the memory and the ROM storage on the mobile and resets it back to the way it was in the box. Which is empty. Now as long as all your contacts are maintained via your gmail or other account for synchronization - then they would come back as soon as you re-sync your account.

It will however also remove all Apps and all of the app data. so saved passwords, or notes whatever - all gone. If they are on your memory card - then they are there now - but I'd wipe the memory card before putting it back in the phone too. so save some of that off on your computer temporarily.

DID you wipe out your memory card? Format it?

or have you just left it out of the device so far.

Do the issues come up right after the factory reset - or does it happen after you sync contacts and start loading apps?

Do you get to a specific App before it acts up?

Otherwise just get a new mobile - I mean it's underwarranty still and probably within your 30 day return window

I would say at this point, unless you didn't buy the phone directly, then take it back or get it exchanged. I have that warning, but I'm also rooted. And that's the only time I know of instances of that happening, so unless you got a rooted V20 (which you would either know already, or you would've seen that same message from day one), I'd definitely have it replaced.
