A new OS install can be fairly demanding on the battery. Give your phone about a week and then check your battery life. In the meantime don&#039;t worry too much about the battery usage and play with the new system. Obviously playing with it will further increase battery usage <img src='styles/smilies/google/smilie.png' class='mceSmilie' alt=':)' title='Smile :)' />

I have update already 30 40 days or more i was waiting to see but is not nothing better

I've seen something similar with my S7 also. My battery consumption has increased noticeably even while doing relatively low power consumption type activities like reading downloaded books with the screen dimmed or on auto adjust. It's so bad that even with the phone plugged into the charger and the fast charge indicator on that I still see the battery discharging and I'll get a message from Samsung Health that I have a weak charge. Oddly, if I let my phone idle and charge, it will now cause my charger to heat up so much it trips the built in fuse to cause it to stop charging, but it will not overheat while the phone is being actively used. This update has been really crappy and problematic to say the least.

The battery life on my S7 is absolutely HORRIBLE after the 7.0 OS update! I used to have 60-70% remaining at the end of my day...now the phone can't even make it a full day!!! WTF do they continue to fix things that are not broken!?!?!?!? I am so pissed off right now!! I'm ready to ditch this POS completely and (dare I say) get an iPhone. ****ing Google can't leave well enough alone...my S7 used to be the BEST phone ever...now I want to smash it on the ground due the poor battery and bugginess of the OS.

That's a tough question to answer. There have been a few postings regarding even worse battery life after nougat. But I suspect that's a small fraction of most users. Overall, nougat has a far better doze function which in my case definitely helps my battery life. As far as your phone is concerned, have you tried the following steps, in order: –

1. Clear system cache.
2. Hard reset – kind of drastic but might be a better choice battery life is really bad.
3. Upgrade to nougat. You never really know, but that might, and I stress might, do the trick.

If none of these steps work, you clearly have a sub par battery and it's an hardware issue. Not sure about your warranty status, but I would take it back the original source

I haven't done any of those steps to be honest. I recently noticed this issue. These past few days have been pretty bad. When it was new I would use it all day and by night time, I had at least 70% left on the battery. It was great. I'm going to try some of these steps and if necessary update to the new software.
