This morning, My LG V20 got a Software Update, probably a security update. The update is almost 800MB in size. The Software Update version is 14B for Verizon LG V20. First time in 4 Months that my LG V20 got an update.

not finding anything concrete out there I decided to go a head and install it - I mean meh why not. So it did take about 3 minutes to install - it downloaded ahead of time. Had to pull the battery to finish boot - had to do that last time too. Stuc on VZ logo and dots screen with dots moving for some 2 minutes or so - the other part of the install went faster and it was warm.

so battery pull (golly that's just nifty to have right) and reboot - booted right through. Searched for service about 20 seconds longer than normal - it was noticeable. Also happened with my last update.

seems to work OK so far.

have you tried again since this. I'd suggest trying to check for updates when you are at home on secure wifi - then let it redownload and try again. Occasionally people will get a corrupt file and it will attempt and stop. Which is why I suggest trying it at home on your own secure wifi.

Otherwise with a PC you can download it and push it to the phone yourself.

Any word on what this update brings to the table? Anything beyond the typical bug fixes and security patches?

I've not found anything that suggests any fixes but the file is a bit large to be just the april security patch. Unless VZ policy is to always package it up as a total ROM install. However I do know it does contain the april security patch.

Maybe is it a combination of the April security patch and the January, February, and March security patches that Verizon "forgot" to put out earlier?

I'm joining the LG club soon. Aside from Security update issues...

OT: Napalm, Lateck. Have you any guys had any experience with the Bootloop issue? I just don't "get" what that's about.

Some people with other phones have an issue where it tries to bootup, stops, resets again and freezes.

Some freeze permanently and won't go past the logo screen - some cycle and cycle and then go to recovery screen - and then stop.

And others just don't turn on at all. Oddy I've fixed 2 of them from my co-workers (both LG made Nexus 6's) both recovered with a bootloader format and reset. (you hold down the volume key and power on, then factory reset) and they both came back to life. but others I hear don't work at all.
